Ashwin vs Rizwan : better technique against pace and bounce?

Seeing Rizwan flopping time and again when he isn't facing Magala and Lizzard and how ungainly his leg side heaves look is my inspiration for this thread. Feel like Ashwin has a better technique and is definitely a better test match batsman as well. I have no doubt he could make the 60(50) that Rizwan makes in UAE or against Dalla, Lizzard and Babawaba. Thoughts?

That's what I am thinking. I give it to Ashwin personally but it is close.

Ashwin is minor version of VVS Laxman in terms of batting. Gorgeous timer.  Even on the most unfriendly alien conditions he will find a way to score runs with some funky stance.  Rizwan is a leg side hack. Only reason he didn't click in LOIs is because he lacks the power game. He is just a timer of the ball.

Not sure about technique,  but Ashwin's batting has style and swag, Rizzu bhai's batting is dull and boring,

Not even a single point is true. 

 

Ashwin does not have the grace of Laxman. 

His overseas stats suggest he has been a total HTB in batting. 

He is not at all a gorgeous timer.

Mark Taylor and Ian Chappell disagree with you. Listen at 3:39.  From the beginning they were talking nothing but about his timing. If you think  Ashwin relies on power then you are wrong.

Ashwin is gifted with timing, even when all the batsmen are struggling, he comes and connects the ball as if he is on different pitch.. It is different thing that it lasts for very short period..

Australian pitches reward good timers of the ball. India should use his batting wherever they can (assuming he is part of the XI).

And with ATG calibre frontline bowlers in full attendance, throwing the kitchen sink at the batters all day. This was no c grade attack on a lifeless pitch.

Against pace and bounce even current DK is better than Rizwan. He is a choker alright at the sight of big stage. But he doesn't suck against pace and bounce

Comparing number 2. T20i batter in the world with DK . Thanks for letting us know his level

 

Pant is a million times better than Rizwan in both ODIs and tests. In t20is Rizwan has better stats but looks like that is about to unravel soon. In fact in ODIs our third choice keeper Ishan Kishan has better stats than Rizwan

No.  Pant is unreliable at core.  He will hit all the six bowls in an over.  T20 required precise calculation like kohli.  Pant can’t do until he changed his mentality

Its far easier in top 3. Pant can easily use powerplay.

 

Just has to get consistent run at the spot
