India in the last 15 years have won as many ICC trophies as Pak in their entire history

After the intellectual arguments put forward by @Pakistan I went over the records and it struck me that since 2007, India have won 1 WC, CT and T20 WC...which is what Pak have managed in their entire history. From that perspective, despite India's choking perhaps they have not been too bad?

Can we stop this obsession with a neighbor who is not in our league...compare with better teams to improve and stop getting riled up over the minutest of comparisons...people can say what they say..you focus on what we can do better...we lose matches and tournaments due to poor selection, fielding standards and fitness has gone down...not performing to potential..these are things to discuss...not comparing past performances.. have we won anything in last five years...zilch.

Agree in essence with what you are saying but things also need to be put in perspective.

In Pak, a 152/0 wipes off everything. On our side of the border we have Sachin-Kohli-Rohit fanboys, whose only goal is to write against other players whether from outside or India … In short, the region has a thuggish sports culture that makes it own logic brazenly as if others are fools. 

 

Now if Pak enters the final and Ind does not, it would provide another dimension.

 

Better to not waste time on such things. Remember there are good folks on either side of the border.

Pakistan is an international non-entity who is poorer than most African countries and have no contribution to humanity - via arts, culture or sports.

 

Their men's cricket team is a decent LOI team and that is the only thing going for them so they cling to it fiercely.

are we so bad that we must now compare ourselves to Pak? with this population, the wealth of BCCI, the relatively few number of teams playing top-level cricket (around 10), we should have been dominating this sport the same way that 'Murica does for baseball, basketball, and American football. instead, we continue to be a perpetual no. 3-type of team while many real trophies go to Eng and Aus, even NZ (WT champions)

naah, Eng, Aus and NZ have the advantage of being first world nations.

 

As indian incomes rise, we should get to domination. U-19 for example we dominate. 2016 onwards we have been great with each edition getting 2-3 potential great players.

 

In 8-10 year's time all those stars from all the different U-19 batches should be staples and you should see domination.

we had U-19 wins in the past too (I can recall kaif's team and kohli's team and unmukt chand's team off the top of my head). not like we are dominating world cricket at the moment.

those were intermittent. this times its 4 consecutive finals with 2 wins.

 

i'll tell you what the difference is.

 

kaif's team gave us yuvraj and kaif himself which helped us win 02 ct, 07 wt20 and 11 wc plus lots of odi series.

kohli's team gave us kohli and jadeja which helped us win 13 ct plus lots of test stuff.

12 team was a bit of a dud.

 

issue is one good u19 batch gives you 2-3 players but the subsequent ones are bad so they arent able to join the good 2-3 players in the senior team. like currently we have some good/great 33-34 year olds and some good 20-25 year olds and a few late 20s but we dont have anyone in between (early 30s).

 

4 good batches means they'll all stack up and be in prime at the same time.

 

16 - sundar, pant, kishan

18 - gill, shaw, arshdeep

20 - bishnoi

 

these guys have already debuted and are doing well and they are will be a point maybe 8 years from now when they will all be good at the same time.

not even 1 - maybe 1/3rd.

Better looking women on average I could agree on. Better looking men...lol. You are just as bad. Pak propagate this myth that all Pak look like Fawad Khan...as if all Ind look like Hrithik. The majority of your guys look like Anjum Chaudary and your paindoo players like UAE basher Rizwan won't even take selfies with women...let's not go there.

 

Better cricket pedigree....I fully agree...other than the fact that India have won more WCs, more overseas test series in more countries, more time at #1, more test maces, more Champions Trophies, more Asia Cups....Pak are definitely better.
