Clutch Statistically great Great personality Impact Sachin does not compare to Imran in any of those fields Basically Imran is as good a bowler as Sachin is with the bat and then he also bats. LOL, twice the cricket and yet goes missing when prestigious All Time XI are composed by credible people. Also finds himself lower everytime a list of greatest cricketers are ever made by credible people. raki05 1
dilliboy Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 (edited) Messi should be compared with Bradman.. both are statistically far ahead of the rest of the competition Edited December 20, 2022 by dilliboy
goose Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 It takes a special player when your team mates want to win it for you as much as themselves and both Messi and Tendulkar did that.

There was a series in India in the 80s where Imran played in front of Indian crowd and Indian umpires. He destroyed the Indian batting lineup in all three tests. Lets not even go into captaincy aspect where Imran trumps Sachin by a country mile having won a world cup in his last appearance for his team. Also lets not get into clutch performances in tests. raki05, Laaloo and rollingstoned 3

Won several matches with the ball. Go and have a look at Imrans away stats before spouting nonsense. Secondly are you comparing Sachin 's bowling (test avg of 55) to Imrans batting (bat avg 38)? You are either clueless or devout Sachin Bhakta. If we go by stats there's no comparison and if we go by impact there's again no comparison. Laaloo 1

Ok Manjrekar..... How many series Pakistan won in Sena during his time and how many overseas victories he has. You are talking as if Imran's Pakistani were wi of 70s or Ausies of 2000. Looks like you spend lots of time on pee pee he won just one test out of 5 test match series, you are saying destroyed as if we lost 5-0 or 4-1 that too against India of 1986 which was very avg team we used to lost against mediocre England back than. Don't overhyped his captaincy and as a player still Tendulkar gets in most world XI than your Imrand and Chokli. Laaloo, rollingstoned and sage 1 2

Imran was a great bowler but he won't make it to the list of top 20 bowlers of all time. As for batting he is Jadeja's level's batsman in tests. Definitely a great utility for his team but to make it to such XIs you must be someone who shook the world with his primary skill. raki05 1

If you were trying to say that tendu is not the GOAT, a more apt comparison would be comparing tendu with stewie (steven smith) since they are both batters. stewie is a better bat, better fielder, better captain (despite the cheating), albeit lesser part-time bowler. I regard jaddu as an indian ATG but not world ATG Edited December 20, 2022 by Vijy raki05 1

SRT is perhaps (and there will be many who dispute this) Ind's greatest ever cricketer, but Messi is one of top 3-4 of all time. Tendu is not in that category. however, the OP's post is not about tendu vs messi - it's about their last WCs. I think Messi's contribution was far more immense, although Tendu did play a great role in his own swansong WC folks, the OP's question was about messi vs tendu. we should move on from the narrative of imran vs tendu; kohli vs tendu; babar vs tendu; random pak player vs tendu.

Tendulkar has twice the career of IK in terms of records and stats. Was better batter across formats than all his great contemporaries, something which IK can never claim to be among bowlers. Sachin makes almost everybody's list of top 5 batsmen of all time in both test and ODI. IK wouldn't even make the top 20 ODI bowlers list. Hell most won't pick him in the top 5 test bowlers list. Half of his legacy is based around a fluke WC win thanks to rain. Also speaking of away record, IK(25.76) while being really good is not anywhere near GOAT level. Bumrah already has 60 percent of his away wickets at a much better (21.x) average. Most great players (like Tendulkar) have better away stats than home stats. But credit where it's due, IK does have the best home bowling average of all time(19.2)! Massive respect to him and Shakoor Rana & the bottle caps. adi B, Laaloo, Vijy and 4 others 7

AKane Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 (edited) There is this Messi is a "God" theme.. Here is how it is perpetuated. See......Copa America is played every 4 years..... For ex after 2007 they played 2011 then they played 2015 Since 2015 they played 4 Copa Americas in 6 years - 2015, 2016, 2019, 2021 so that this entitled "God" can win at least 1. 2007 - Brazil 2011 - Uruguay 2015 - Chile 2016 - Chile 2019 - Brazil 2021 - finally........ Argentina. Then came the 5 penalties in this WC.... And you all are comparing him with Sachin..... please. Edited December 20, 2022 by AKane raki05 1
adi B Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 Off course Tendulkar for us Indians ,Why would I give any fecks for Messi, who I have no connections with nor do we play that sports at the highest level? But talking generally, Messi without a doubt, one of GOATs in any sport
Bublu Bhuyan Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 Here Imran’s own contemporary David Gower rating the top 50 Test cricketers of all time. Sachin at 3, Imran at 11 - LMAO, twice the cricketer. raki05 1
