Bublu Bhuyan Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Sachin was my first hero in cricket. After his retirement, Kohli has been my hero. I have supported him through thick and thin, just like I supported Sachin during the time he was struggling with his injuries. There was a time during Kohli's peak where I questioned whether he was even better than Sachin. Such was his prowess. I don't know what to say now. Yes, I'll continue to back him till he retires, but I wonder what he'll come up with till then. I'm so disappointed right now. Please, Kohli .... I don't expect you to perform like a ruthless machine like you did in your prime. In fact no one can manage to perform to the standards you have set. But at least perform to the level where fans like me aren't embarrassed to justify your place in the Test team on the basis of your performance. raki05 and sarchasm 2
Nikola Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Need one big innings (probably century) to get back at his best like he did in other format. Though there could be debate if he was that out of form ever in t20. It was mostly tests & odis. raki05 1
R!TTER Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 He is in terminal decline, whether you're a (diehard) fan or not just accept that Frustrated and raki05 2

There is nothing to be embarassed about, he is a player and he will have his ups and downs. When a player age, his reflexes slow down and they have to adapt accordingly to elongate their career and maintain form. Sachin did that during 2007-2011, Kohli is in the same phase where he has to adapt. Selections to national team should be made on performance and not on emotions. raki05 1
R!TTER Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Yes looking back at some his nostalgic innings, even if I wasn't a fan, he was the true successor to SRT - he'll probably also be the last Indian batter to score 10k runs in tests! raki05 1

Never once did he look anywhere near prime Sachin lol. sage and sarchasm 1 1
Number Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Please don't put him and SRT in the same sentence. At least in test matches. raki05 1
cricketfan28 Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Happens to everyone, nothing to be embarrassed about since you are acknowledging the problem.
gattaca Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 After playing for more than 20 years he doesn’t even know when to play on backfoot seems like his fundamentals are gone. cowboysfan 1
Number Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 (edited) Kohli's weakness 1. Channel ball on off stump line 2. Incoming deliveries from left arm pacer 3. Can't play decent leggies - Adil Rashid, Zampa 4. Can't play left arm spin on turning tracks Other than these weaknesses he is a goat player. putrevus Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 He is finished in redball cricket. How can any batsman survive with one shot thru offisde.Spin or pace it makes no difference.
cowboysfan Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 this isnt t20,all your weakness is brutally exposed again and again.
wanted_desi Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Kohli is done, he might score few 100s here and there. Overall, he doesn’t provide any more benefits to team than someone upcoming batsman. Let’s say Gill in middle order! cowboysfan 1

Have you heard anything regarding developing a batsman? He got talent, give him fair chance. Whereas Kohli Average- 2020: 19.33 2021: 28.21 2022: 29.33 What does Kohli have to provide in future? He is already in last stage of his carrer, he is wasting a spot right now. He is no better than Rahane to be sure. Would you want to bring him back in the squad. nitinbwj 1

nevada Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Why should his fans feel embarrassed? Father time catches up with every professional sportsman sooner or later.

I have already said that Kohli is done as a batsman but Gill has to do more for him to occupy the slot reserved for best batsman in the team. Gill is still yet to show he belongs in international cricket long term . I rather get a seasoned player like SKY who plays in middle order and make him number 4 .SKY at least is best in one format.
