Gollum Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Then Dhoni repeated the same thing on a much bigger stage, 2019 WC against the same opponent, him and Jadhav both culprits on that occasion. raki05, nitinbwj, sage and 2 others 2 3
Majestic Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Dhoni basically used the power he had to his advantage in those final years of his career. raki05, SRT100 and nitinbwj 3
putrevus Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Dhoni was carried to three cups as a captain without him doing anything other one knock in finals where Yuvi and Raina were still there. This SOB was lucky as a captain than being good. adi B, nitinbwj, raki05 and 1 other 3 1

That was a strange chase. We got within striking distance then totally backed off. I may be wrong but it could a tactical decision to get rid of the neighbours as they started looking dangerous in the later part of tournament with Shaheen and Amir bowling well. CT'17 final was fresh in the minds of most of the players. nitinbwj 1

And a massive failure in all WT20s post the inaugural one. Not just batting, his poor captaincy had a big role in all our defeats in 2009, 2010, 2016 editions, and the 2014 final as well. Underwhelming in tests as well (not to forget his loss of interest in that format post 2011 WC), Saha was better from circa 2011-12 but was kept away. Edited January 14, 2023 by Gollum raki05 1

IMO they never had the belief they could win from that position, both had been inept for a while, and also total lack of accountability. They knew no questions would be raised. A similar stunt 20 years ago would have invited allegations of fixing, that's how strange that game was. raki05 1
nitinbwj Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Haha.. Imagine Dravid giving that speech.. He just won't say anything. The most pathetic coach I have ever seen. Vilander and raki05 2

India should have won atleast one more world t20 if not Dhoni's idiotic captaincy .His batting was never good enough in t20s. Dhoni is legtimate ATG in odis and best test WK batsman from India but he hung on too long and got too much credit as a winner. raki05 1

Kerberos Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 That night shastri had old monk as a mark of respect for old Dhoni. Shastriji was a cool customer (no pun intended).

cricketfan28 Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Most successful Ipl captain after Sharma so these dictator tendencies are natural.
