BazBall will be pretty successful on rank turners...  India are looking at a fight as far as batting goes.   Their spin options is what gives India advantage.

Not necessarily, it works better with truer bounce & places like Pak. When the balls spinning massively or the odd one keeping low you must have a tight defense, the flip side to that is of course on flatter surfaces like Chennai 2021 first test we could really lose big so should we afford 5 spin shootouts & make it a complete lottery? RGS, Rahane & yes even Kohli needs to go IMO but that's not happening - at least 2 of them will play vs Eng, if not all 3 :hatsoff:

If we have flat surfaces in one or more tests I would really love to have this side packed with FTB's like Kishan, Mayank(?) or any Ranji bullies!

I am looking at venues like Rajkot & Dharamsala  are prime candidates for BazBall to succeed.

Rajkot is either flat road or offers extremely slow turn.  Ball travels in Dharamsala due to higher altitude.

Raging spitting red soil Turner Mumbai would test BazBall but no Test there.

I am unsure how Hyderabad would play out.

Overall Eng has a decent shot at winning 2 tests in India at least.  They need one more spinner to partner Leach.

Kuhnemann was a average left arm spinner made to look like peak Herath in India.  If India goes right hand heavy they should deploy Liam Dawson alongside Leach.

Wood should play in Rajkot & Dharamsala fully fit.

The difference is Eng don't have much pedigree with their pace bowlers, Oz even with their lineup had much better pacers in India. If you take the last 10 or even 20 years' record Oz has consistently outperformed Eng with the ball in India, although results won't show that, the reason they've lost more is because their batters have been rather poor consistently post 2004, unlike Eng.

Aus also had/have Lyon, only time Eng had that calibre spinner was when they had peak Swann. Leach and Ali are decent but I don't rate them higher than the Bangladeshi and Lankan spinners who repeatedly get bashed in our backyard.

Manchester washout really costed England...  Australia should be happy to walk away with 2-2 (retaining Ashes) + WTC final.

I feel the Aussies just play the game like a game without overthinking or letting the enormity of the occasion get to them. Travis Head teed off like he was playing against a club side and decided the WTC in his team's favor. In the first two games of the Ashes, they were at their combative best whenever they were at risk of falling behind in the game. They enjoyed the fruits of their early wins at the end of the series. England didn't play as well as they would have liked, probably because of all the hype about Bazball. They seemed more intent on Bazballing than actually winning the game. Dug themselves too big of a hole to climb out of.

England and Australia hit with heavy sanctions from ICC for slow over rates during thrilling Ashes series as Usman Khawaja blasts governing body for harsh ruling

Massive dent in Austarlia/England points.

Dharamshala is bouncy like Australia, pitch is not soft there like in England. Rajkot will be a rank turner for sure, they'll make it one.

There is a lot of lateral movement in Dharamsala....  Aussie decks are hard & soil type & clay content is different.

You can't replicate that.

Either Dharamsala is excellent for stroke making though.  There is always pace in the pitch to get caught behind dismissals.

Despite a poor toss decision and a changed ball. OZ inability to attack Moeen cost them the Ashes. Specifically Mitchell Marsh. As an RHB, his timidity against Moeen and getting out to a nothing ball cost Australia the Ashes. Called it in the match thread itself. That was the moment and Marsh choked by going into his shell.
