Michael Clarke who knows about cricket more anyone on here said it best.India is doing something right as they are only team which qualified for last two finals.

Even robinson & broad have asked for more helpful pitches. Now that puts pressure on stokes. Can he take the bold call? If yes then won't that expose his batting with their bazball approach against quality australian bowlers?

India can beat Aussies. Just need rohit removed from captaincy and find someone else to replace him who can be as good as kohli was. Rahane was good but he is a terrible batsman. 

Injuries obviously dint help us. Not playing ipl right before tests for a start would be good. Rohit is already unfit as he is. 

With some proper selections we could have won at oval easily.

There is a time and place to look at glass half full.

 

This is not that time.

 

Our batting is a joke.

 

Has been for years now.

 

Only reason we have reached WTC finals is cos our lower order fought tooth and nail.

 

If they flopped with the bat, we would have lost against freaking Bangladesh.

 

Aud would have easily won the series in India.

 

So yes our management, selection, batting is gutless.

 

Toxic positivity is a thing too.

It's the draw which pushes us to KOs,that is ICCs purpose

Why would ICC care India wins WCs,it's upto the board the BCCI,to plan and make right,ruthless decisions

People must understand/remember,how we were knocked out in WC21 once we lost to Pak

If you loose to Pak,pack your bags,coz this side doesn't have it in them to beat SENA sides in ICC events now

We do it to ourselves. Just need to pick right players. Let's not be prejudiced and pick players based on marketability. Merit warrants a place not quota or political connections. 

Once we start picking our best players, we will start winning  again.

Only bangla away was easy and we almost lost. 

We should have won vs SA but again selections cost us. 

 

At home we had a tough rival in Aussies

Nz who is easy to beat at home but they got lucky to draw one test this time. 

Lastly Lanka was easy I agree.

 

We got some hard draws. 

 

If anything Australia had it way too easy. 

Last wtc again we had the toughest schedule.

They likely overestimated the loss of playtime due to rain and declared to make sure the game would have a result. In hindsight, one could call in an exuberant gesture but that's how risks pan out sometimes. England fought till the end and lost a close contest. Nothing wrong with that. Also, the Aussies deserve credit for not giving up and grabbing the game back as it was slipping out of their grip. I know knives were being sharpened for a while to stab England as soon as they lose. Now the opportunity has come. The joy of many disbelievers if England lose the series will be a sight to behold.

IPL cannot be shifted. better to not play test after IPL. must have at least three to four weeks gap after IPL between such important games. This final was played after 9 days of IPL final.

I am not a fan of the WTC final itself. It is gimmicky and meaningless. The earlier system of awarding the mace to the #1 ranked team was just fine.
