Nash Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Jagmeet is getting big chunk of votes from left leaning Canadians. Khalistani vote shares are not huge here. Not all Sikh votes him either. Indians do not vote him in big numbers also. Indians traditionally voted to the liberal.

Its not that NDP is propped up by Khali votes. Its NDP has increased its vote share amongst Punjabis by having a Punjabi leader- which is natural for western politics ( this is why parties are fielding POC candidates) and that NDP is lead BY a khalistani. Its more like Jaggu bhai inserting HIS Khalistani agenda into the NDP manifesto and trying to legitimise it by saying its 'sikh issue'.

Or is he to NDP what Trump is to the Reds in the US - a cult hero?

Or is he to NDP what Trump is to the Reds in the US - a cult hero? He isn't a cult hero, he is just the most obvious candidate for NDP given that he has ability to get 'brown vote'. NDP, after its leader Jack Layton died, became a party with no clear cut leader, having a charisma crisis and struggling to differentiate themselves from the Liberals. Indeed, the main problem of NDP is they are seen as 'more commie liberals' - their social policy ( with alphabet soup people & immigration) is near identical, their economic take is near identical, with only 'No, we are going even further/are even more extreme than the liberals on these issues' being their calling card. As such, in a political landscape where NDP are a distant third party cross-Canada ( and 4th if you look at actual seats won, because BQ dominates Quebec and usually ends up with more seats from Quebec alone than NDP has from entire Canada), they see Jaggu Bhai as ' essential for the extra 5-7 seats we win due to Punjabi vote factor'. In other words, from NDP POV, the alternatives are worse ( in pure vote capital terms) than Jaggu Bhai. Having said that, Jaggu Bhai isnt indispensible to the NDP - there are some sections of NDP that's always been unhappy with him, mostly because ever since he became NDP leader, a significant portion of Canadians have made it clear that they won't vote for him, because he looks like a 'junglee who just got outta bed, with his unkempt beard' look. Yes, Canadians are very vain like that (which is a major winning point for Turd-O, as he is seen as handsome & sophisticated dresser) and early on several journos/talk show hosts wondered why the hell doesn't jaggu bhai comb his beard or keep it orderly like MMS did- which got shot down with the whole 'MUH BODYSHAMING ASSHOLES' crap that is common in the west. But suffice to say, some in the NDP see Jaggu bhai's sensibilities as an unnecessary hinderence that he perhaps indulges in as a specific identifier to the more extreme Khalis ( who view grooming of any kind as violation of the kesh & kara diktats in Sikhi). BacktoCricaddict Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Found this 2017 article. 6 years is a lifetime ago, it appears. https://www.ndtv.com/offbeat/justin-trudeau-goes-desi-wears-kurta-at-india-day-parade-see-pics-1740452 Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended an India Day parade in his constituency of Papineau in Montreal, Quebec wearing a traditional kurta-pyjama on Sunday. He took to Twitter to share pictures from the parade celebrating India's Independence Day. Many complimented the politician for his sartorial choice. Mr Trudeau impressed many after concluding his speech at the parade with a "rousing" chant of Jai Hind. "Home in my riding of Papineau for Indian Independence Day celebrations! Long live the friendship between our two countries," Mr Trudeau tweeted from his personal Twitter handle. A picture of the Canadian Prime Minister in a bright purple kurta was also tweeted by his official Twitter handle. Home in my riding of Papineau for Indian Independence Day celebrations! wanted_desi Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 "The intelligence did not come solely from Canada. Some was provided by an unnamed ally in the Five Eyes intelligence alliance." Interesting, it has to be coming from USA, spying on Indian diplomats on Canadian soil.

Vilander Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 I think this is elaborate ruse to reduce immigration of Punjabi students from India to Canada. Expect nothing to come out of it, and it to die down with back channel diplomacy. raki05 1
