2003

If we had won it would be one of the greatest world cup victories ever.

Getting our asses handed by Australia in the first game, then almost losing to Holland, and then destroying England,  SL, NZ, PAK and if we had somehow beat Australia in the final? Especially in a country like South Africa where we always struggled to win.

From the chart in OP, Srinath bowled his heart out and lead our bowling attacks in so many world cups.

Very underrated bowler

:hatsoff:

Only bowler to represent India in 4 World cups.

Ashwin could have achieved the feat had he played in 2019

2003 wasn't best ever by any means.

Zak was injury prone non skillful bowler back then.

Srinath was on his last legs and mostly done.

Nehra was good but leaked runs and was inconsistent with his line and length.

Kumble was fading by then and Harbhajan was only good thing although all five didn't played together in any game.

2003 conditions helped us. Remember we went there completely with negative mindset after losing 2-5 against NZ on drop-in pitches. Ball was swinging. India's spin options were not exactly stellar in 2003.  In 2011 spin was okayish given the wickets, but India's 3rd choice bowling was just okay. 2019 would have been great. But England completely neutered us by offering flat pattas. Siraj/Bumrah/Shami/Kuldeep/Ash  - will probably the most potent impactful bowling line up ever as each one of them can be match winners with ball. I include Ashwin because matches happen in India.

Australia hit 10 sixes in the 2003 final, out of which 5 sixes alone came off Srinath's bowling.

Srinath gets too much hype, even more than 170 kph Mohammad Zahid.

Sehwag smasehd 2 sixes of  Mcgrath in one over. Won't read too much into bowling in that match. Australia got away that day because of India's pathetic toss decision. India could have buried their bowling attack on that pitch.
