Is this loss the end of Afghan cricket?

Before this match, and potentially 20 overs into the second innings, AFG were looking to pull of another upset, and a possible SF berth. They had announced their arrival onto the big stage. But, this choke job here is possibly the end of AFG cricket. Their rise will forever be stunted. I don't see how one can recover from such bottling. Their growth will definitely be halted. Especially, the next time they face Australia they will definitely have a huge mental block. I don't see them ever beating them. Or any other good team for that matter.

Similar thing happened in 2018 to Bangladesh cricket. They bottled two multi national finals against India from winning positions and have been abysmal in all tournaments since then..

Before that they did pretty well in Asia cups and ICC tournaments, but since then all they saw was first round exits .

This is expected from match winners like Maxwell, SKY etc. on their day.

Even Chris Cairns got pain killer injections and destroyed India with a similar innings back in the day.

This is why even though Shunya Kumar Yadav is not the caliber of Kohli or Rohit, you always pick him as he will play one of these innings on his day - especially if he gets 2 or 3 lives/luck

Sky can never replicate this knock, may be in IPL but not in international. His ceiling is 70-75 in ODIs.

Looking at the positive, a team that started playing cricket barely 10 years back was about to deliver a big defeat to a cricketing giant.

Their batting today was very good against full strength Aus attack.

They just need to produce a few good fast bowlers and they will be a big force in cricket world.

They were lacking tactically in key areas, should've attacked Maxi/Head more, easily left 20-40 runs on the table which would've made a huge difference! If you're fielding is as bad as we saw this game you should always aim for above par scores, with great fielding you can defend par or slightly below par scores & with great fielding+bowling you can do under par scores regularly.
