How is India still producing cricketers like Arshdeep Singh?

Hangargekar is out of form in the last few months  Bowling very poorly.

Are any coaches working with him? Trying to reform his actions? That will do it to any bowler. Ruin their bowling.

Do not try to reform their action - just point out spots to bowl and practice on that.

There is something about Arshdeep: I feel like he got so many tools under his belt and if he applies himself that he could have a long career.

I feel he can be a T20 specialist. BCCI sent him to play county cricket in England and that has sort of messed up his length. Rather than trying to make him an all format bowler, they should try to make him T20 specialist. 2 overs with the new ball when he gets the ball to swing, then 2 overs in the death.

Rather than trying to make him a test bowler, they can make him improve his hitting ability with the bat and he will be a big asset for India.

In the 90's many bowlers could bat a bit.

Srinath, Kumble, Agarkar, Harbhajan , Sunil Joshi, Chetan Sharma type could bat..

Not when the pressure was on they could not.

Remember when Sachin got 136 and Nayan Mongia a 52 to bring India within 10-20 runs of win over Pak in a test. We lost by 12 runs.

This is what the tail did....Just like any Indian tail.

c & b Saqlain Mushtaq 8 20 40 0 1 40.00
lbw b Wasim Akram 1 5 7 0 0 20.00
b Saqlain Mushtaq 1 8 17 0 0 12.50
not out 0 6 14 0 0 0.00

Nathan Lyon supposedly does not take advice from anybody except his own bowling coach who has taught him.

I think most bowlers should do this - like the saying of "Too many cooks...." - don't listen to too much advice on how to bowl. It will affect you badly.

What about Rudra Pratap Singh...who won us T20 WC in SA in 2007.

12 wickets in 7 games..averaging 12.xx

He was good for a very short period before he faded away.

Pathan lasted longer and Zak obviously was the best Indian pacer in that decade.

Arshdeep was the star performer for India in WT20 in Australia and has consistently done well for Punjab in IPL and India in T20s. Think he has gone past RP.

One thing i which realised is that Arshdeep s struggle is mainly with dew and wet balls. If gets conditions which suits him he can be a handful as he has this surprise bouncer plus he can bowl yorkers. His confidence was hammered in aus t20 series primarily bowling with wet balls and he was not sure whether to pitch it up or go length or bowl slower and he got spanked in all.. this comes with age.  The maturity to bowl with wet ball.. in saf first t20 as well he got a wet ball and was hammered. We should keep faith in him..only bowler who can bowl in death as well as powerplay. Won the last t20 in Aus series bowling in death and against pakistan in wt20 he was unbelievable in powerplay..
