Execution also there now and then. Consistency was a problem. And for whatever reason, he seemed to bowl faster in this match. Maybe TM defined his role to be more of a strike-bowler here but to just try and keep it tight in the other matches (which he didn't, of course). Edited August 4, 2025 by BacktoCricaddict
adi B Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 He does get steep bounce and has a a devastating Yorker, he just needs to keep it tight when things are not going his way ,need to control his lengths as well ,bowls some trash in between . But still has all the ingredients to be a good pacer coffee_rules, Mosher, BacktoCricaddict and 2 others 5

Right now, for Red-ball cricket:| Prasidh, Akash, Harshit (pace) Arshadeep , Mukesh, (trundler pace) Counting out Siraj as he has been promoted to top tier after the Eng series.

Yes, for Indian bowlers, you have to pick them young because they take their time to learn the bowling of test cricket. coffee_rules 1

Not when they are like Kamboj. A young Prasidh should have been groomed earlier when he still had pace and bounce. Regarding Siraj, he was disappointing in Australia series. Pace barely crossing 135. Big reason, we lost that series. He did pick wickets but not at the right time. Those were more bowling friendly tracks than this series. Bumrah averaged 15ish. Siraj 30+. Bumrah alone was taking the burden. If he hadn't done well in this series too, he would have been dropped. He is anyway poor at home. coffee_rules and express bowling 2

If you haven't bowled a lot in yous career, you are not going to develop accuracy. Bowling itself develops control, not age. coffee_rules and rollingstoned 2
