Seam Bowling All Rounders for Test Cricket @ Number 8

The selectors are always picking S Thakur (32) for SENA Test tours, can they not also check alternatives like:

D Chahar (31)

R Dhawan (33)

R Bawa (21)

D Chahar's fitness is not reliable even for 50 over cricket...Tests where he has to bowl for 15-17 overs in a day is risky. He is a good bowler though under overcast conditions.

R Dhawan is not international class, his batting has improved though but his bowling is just based on cutters & slower ones, bowlers like this who don't have a proper stock bowl will struggle.

Raj Bawa has a good case, though he is more of a no 7 allrounder than no 8. I think he could have been used here considering as a future investment.

Harshit Rana is another bowler who has ability to bowl long spells and can bat decently. Has a very good stock bowl which moves in to the right handers, another missed chance by selectors.

Why do we need allrounder at 8?  You need your 3 best quicks and your best spinner from 8-11.  Allrounder at 7 if at all.

Needed someone who can bowl 7-8 overs of Seam bowling per day in SA.  Shardul is a bowler first which is a pathetic selection.

Raj Bawa should have been selected I feel.  Throwing that guy to the deep end is what we need.

You get 4 pacers + a left arm spin of Jaddu.  And a left hand lower order batter in Bawa.

Poor strategy all around.  Shardul didn't last long in SA anyways.  His fluke 7 fer has given him that spot

Want harshit Rana at 8, kuldeep 9, Bumrah 10, Mayank Yadav 11. This bowling attack for test and ODIs soon enough. Shami and Siraj are jut fillers overseas before more talented players take their places.

I want this bowling attack too, in the near future for tests and ODIs.

7. Axar

8. Harshit

9. Kuldeep Yadav  / Tyagi  ( based on the pitch )

10. Bumrah

11. Mayank Y

Harshit can bat and Tyagi is decent with the bat too.

In SENA may be Jadeja in place of Axar..if we are only going to keep one spinner then In tests Jadeja may be a better bet..

so Axar in ODIs..Jadeja in Tests..if Jadeja keeps on playing though..

Vijay Shankar is more suited to do that. Can bat in top 6 and bowl few overs.

Bawa is very young and injury prone.

Yeah Shankar would have been a horses for courses call...  A tall guy as well.

I don't think selectors & TM have a clue about conditions there.

Matches would be short & crisp..  Teams would barely bowl 80 overs per inns.

Going in with 4 specialist bowlers + additional Shardul is worthless.

Need to strengthen batting as much as we can.

Just remember this is not the Windies and Roberts, Holding, Croft, Garner.  After first 10 or 12 overs Croft and Garner came on.

This 4th pacer of ours gets to bowl at best near over 25 and to well set batsmen.  This started being enforced by Bumrah when he was captain in England for T5.  Siraj got one over then a real spell around over 21. Thakur got his first over at over 35.

Might as well take a good spinner. 4th pacer won't work for India with Bumrah and Shami hogging the new ball.

Rajyawardhan singh hingarkar seems a very good 140+ Pacer and knows a little bit of batting too....rishi dhawan was a 120K pacer so he is definitely not worth INDIA , Deepak also seems to have some issues in his fitness and his pace , i think his batting is OK.

RAJ BAWA i have not seen his bowling.
