Go Karnataka! Hope they win it this year, they reach playoffs in the last 8 years and get beaten badly.

What a name. Mohammed Mohammed lol   5 wicket haul & 85 runs down the order in crunch situation. He is 32. Never heard of him before.  4 debutants in the TN vs GUjarat match. Sandeep Warrier is such a fine bowler. Not sure if he didn't work hard or he couldn't break through because we had a strong unit definitely should have played for us. When Natrajan, Saini, Unadkat have played for us Sandeep should have played definitely. I like his nice action.

Tilak Varma does have a good defensive technique. He was 17 off 40 balls in the last odi but I was happy. He was playing kind of a test match innings and then he accelerated. It was not a flat pitch. He do need a left hander in MO and we havent had one since Ganguly and Yuvi not considering Pant and Jadeja who are wk and AR. Tilak can play at 5 as he can offer some bowling as well ala Travis Head, fields well and plays spin well.. one to watch out for. Post Rohit kohli we ll have a pool of jaiswal, kl rahul, sai sudarshan, iyer, pant, kishan, rinku , tilak , Gaikwad and Sundar..

Tripura, *arguably* the neutrals' favourite, beat Goa by 237 runs. Given they declared their second innings at 151/5, they perhaps could have gone for the bonus point win by making Goa follow on. Having said that, Tripura has perhaps one of the few, if not the only, pace-dominated attacks in the Ranji trophy, so it could be a case of being easier said than done.

Remarkably for such a huge margin of victory (which by the quirks of the Ranji trophy regulations still somehow failed to get a bonus point ...), there were very few standout performances from Tripura:

- Sridam Paul got a century in the first innings, plus an unbeaten run-a-ball 30-odd in the third whilst setting up Tripura's declaration

- Manisankar Murasingh, the closest India ever got to Richard Hadlee (excluding Kapil Dev), scored 50 in the first innings to go with 3 wickets in the 2nd and 4th innings each. In other words, Murasingh did Murasingh things.

- Wriddhiman Saha got 97 in the first innings

- 4fer for AK Sarkar in the second innings (Goa's first), where Goa was bowled out for 135.

- In the fourth innings, which Tripura wrapped up only after the drinks of the final session of the match, 9 bowlers(!!) were used in all. Whether it was genius or madness on the captain Wriddhiman Saha's part, who before moving to Tripura never captained at first class level (IIRC), only time will tell ...

Shivam dube match bowling figures of 6/26 against Bihar other than scoring 41.. no wonder he got a call.. he has been taking wickets recently..

I don't think he can land the ball on seam from whatever I saw in the past.. . would be happy if he has improved.
