Mohammed Kaif makes startling revelation about ODI World Cup 2023 final pitch

"Both Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid came in the evening to inspect the pitch, this practice was done for three days straight, and I saw the pitch changing colour. They have Cummins, and Starc who are fast bowlers, so give them slow pitches and a mistake happens. People say that curator makes the pitch and no one has a say is false and baseless," Kaif said in an interview with Lallantop.

Most ICFers know, but general public doesn't. This should become viral soon. There has to be some closure to this, if this means permanent ban of these 2 scumbags from anything associated with Indian cricket, so be it.

No accountability for that farce of a final till date.

It's not just those 2 heads that should roll, but also some in BCCI too. How can they give a couple of individuals so much power and then just go and bury their (i.e., BCCI) heads in the sand as ostriches? where are the checks and balances? accountability? intelligence?

Even the 90s fixers didn't do as much damage to Indian cricket as Dravid. He has been on a mission to destroy Indian cricket his whole life, warning signs were visible during the Chappell era. Now the systematic attempt to make a mockery of home pitches, destroy India's fast bowling culture, kill off young talent while making Bharat and Mukesh the poster boys of Indian cricket. If incompetence had a face.

Essentially they turned a gun team into pussy cats by altering the pitch that was the least useful for us. Amazing thinking. We lost a test to Australia similarly.  This Dravid's stat-padding as a coach is seriously stunting India's growth. He doesn't even understand his own team's strength. Our pacers were blowing away team after team in the world cup. Here we have a pitch that was hardly helpful for seamers and spinners (under light). What a colossal f*** up by this TM. Could have had the final at Chennai's traditional pitch or even Eden Gardens. The whole humiliation had to happen in Narendra Modi stadium infront of Narendra Modi.

Find it hard to believe that Rohit Sharma would miss the all you can eat buffet for 3 consecutive evenings...

Had he not played that stupid shot against Maxwell, we would have won that game. It will go down in history as one of the biggest brain fade's and something that will bother Rohit as well all his life.

For that alone he should have been stripped off captaincy for all formats

Yes, despite pitch being altered i still believe a target around 285-290+would have tested Aus had he taken some responsibility

That being said,Dravids coward approach has botched an opportunity of lifetime

Ever since dravid started coaching his main focus is on pitch doctoring. I remember him doing this against NZ in an useless biletral series which bandya was captaining. They got even a curator fired who dint listen to them. Our team was in superb form it was in much better position to win the wc than 2011 team, but due to these 2 napunshak idiot and especially Dravid the moron we lost an icc trophy. This time our batters dint choke rather team management and we lost a golden opportunity.

Kaif is just finding a way to be in the limelight. There is nothing "startling" or revelatory about what he is saying. It's not as if he was the only person able to look at the ground before the final. The fact is that India had a good enough team to win whatever the conditions and should have been good enough to win on the pitch they played on regardless of the toss. The basic issue was that the players choked under pressure.
