Literally made him their speed bowling machine in the nets while picking "experienced" guy like Umesh who has hardly been good in ipl except 1 or 2 seasons. Even someone like Darshan gets to play but not Tyagi. Boggles my mind.

He has hardly played 19 games over four seasons. Only got 3-4 games last two seasons. Now he has become an express pacer. Was consistently in 150s in the televised game.

Pull shot has been the undoing of all wickets against Mayank.  Bairstow, Prabh, Jitesh, Maxwell.  Beaten for pace with bounce.

 

Mayank has a great brace, doesn't bend his knee, and has that turning of the wrist with the wrist cocking action to generate that extra pace.

This is the most efficient fast bowling action I've seen. All the impediments removed, just pure efficiency. From the brace, rotation of shoulder/wrist and cocking down wrist action.  This guy has it all.

They could say Umran was wayward but they have no such excuse for not selecting Mayank.He is not just fast but he is accurate too.
