zen Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 26 to get off 25 w/ 6 wkts remaining ... It was SA's WC to lose, and it lost it! SA has only itself to blame. For the first time, an LOI WC would have gone to Africa! Kron 1

This victory has been nothing short of a miracle. Credit goes to Bumrah Arshdeep & Hardik for not only bringing us back in the game but winning it. Well played South Africa, but I think you choked again. Miller hit an amazing 6 shot Not a choke shot. They could still have pulled it off .... But SKY wrested it away. We choked them
rollingstoned Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 I've always liked them because they keep producing awesome players. They made final for the first time by being calm and clutch for most of this match but just couldn't get over the line. They'll win stuff by the end of this decade for sure.

Miller and klaasen cld have done it in singles, but they went for glory and made a complete mockery of it in the end.

Klaasen did get a little overconfident and thought he can hit everything for a Six, that delivery by Hardik was so outside off and get Klaasen went for the glory shot, only to edge it. Dhoni Thala would win the match from that situation 99 times out of 100 with just singles and doubles. The Hound 1

I am not convinced of too many things but I am convinced that Miller hot a brilliant shot that was a six. Full credit to India for making sure it wasn't a six but a wicket.
MumInd Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 I hope they ditch this trasnformative or blakc playe rpolicy.... looked so much better without forcing in Bavuma and andile pheylukuyao..... Would ahve been even better if they gave Faf Du Plessis a chance instead of half black colored Reez ahendricks....
Gollum Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 With Markram as captain, they would have probably beaten Aus in the 2023 SF. Bavuma was total waste. Kron 1

I thought Klassen was just trying to guide it for a single or two.

You cannot just sideline 95% of your population and expect your team to be strong forever.
putrevus Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 I don't know if they ever will get a better chance, other captain handed the match on platter by feeding Klassan Axar. nevada and The Hound 2
Singh bling Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 What I don't understand why they didn't play Bartman Or Coetze on this pitch. Playing shamsi on this pitch vs India was stupid

Someone has to bring this nonsense on every South African cricket thread. Not playing Coetze which almost won them SF in WC 23 was stupid. Bartman and probably Shamsi were selected because they can't play more than 5-6 whites

Texan Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 What a magnanimous team They played truly outstanding cricket for 35 overs. Unfortunately for them, the ghosts of the past caught up with them one more time in the last 5 overs. We got out of jail to win this one!

They kept winning low scoring thrillers on dodgy wickets. The semifinals was totally one sided and didn't test them. Yesterday's pitch was a belter full of runs and SA needed to score the highest ever total in a T20 WC final. They couldn't hold their composure for the entirety of their innings. India was able to win because they have experience clawing back from tight situations. SA will hopefully do well next time. rollingstoned 1

Yeah, their next opponent in a big game could be the ruthless Aussies or the sneaky Kiwis. They won't be generous like India.
jf1gp_1 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 SA played like a champion team. One more over of klaaseen and they were through. Brilliant from them.

They were not chasing 275 plus total. Rohit made lot of mistakes that day too as captain too.
