Combine it with how Bumrah and co. bailed us out against Pak as well. I believe our winning %ge was around 2% in both the matches at one stage and we managed to win both! Never seen that happen twice in the same tourney, especially the final.

Our pace attack is what our padosis think they have  :yay:

Ideally at this wicket we needed Siraj as well. Would have been a comprehensive win. There is no way those stand and deliver sixes would not have happened. Henrique klassen's strike rate against seamers this edition is mere 80.

It was 3% at 30/30 on Cricinfo.

while during the match, i was very nervous, now i can say truly an epic match.

all 5 of our won icc finals have been tough lol (2002 was shared).

2007, 2013, 2024 went to last over.

1983 was tough after first innings but came back well.

2011 easiest but even that had nervous moments.

In that 2002 one we were in the pole position. We were 38/1 chasing 225 IIRC, and would've won it. Sehwag was in amazing form that time and India had started off their new approach of playing with 7 batsmen.

16th over Bumrah - 4 runs

17th over Hardik  - 4  runs  1 wicket

18th over Bumrah - 2 runs 1 wicket

19th over Arshdeep - 4 runs

20th over Hardik 8 runs 2wickets

22 runs 4 wickets  5 overs

There is absolutely no doubt that bowlers won this World Cup final for India.

Hopefully the batters will step up next time so that we don’t have to win it in the last ball.

2013 final - 15 runs to defend  - Ashwin  conceded 9 runs  (incidentally this is also 20 overs)

you would think but then there is this scorecard circa 2002 ... required run rate of 4.88 with 9 wkts in hand and 17 overs to go and Gibbs and Kallis in complete control.

Doing it in a World Cup final is something else altogether

yea bowling one good over is fine. 2 is fine. But 5 in a row is unbelievable that too bowling to two of the biggest modern day T20 players going around

Pulling back from what 30 runs from 30 ball with 2 of the biggest hitters in cricket---- Amazing.

Bumrah, Pandya and Singh pull-back was unreal in the finals when other team had the momentum, only 1 wide in that spell.

Greatest and better than Malinga vs us in 2014.

Malinga was bowling to finished Yuvi. If Dhoni/Raina had got in, would have won that cup as well.

We were bowling to Klaasen/Miller.
