How about we pick on form closer to time.

Pandya is injury prone. No guarantee he will be fit in 2 years.

Don't think a) hosts have won the wc t20 b) won back to back

40 T20Is before next WC.

Groom Nitish Reddy. Make Venky Iyer bowl more, try him out a lot.....higher ceiling than Dube. Prepare backups in all departments.

Yeah that's what's gonna happen.  We are only playing 6 ODIs before CT anyways.

20 T20Is otoh

Enough time to build a new squad

We have Nishant Sindhu waiting in wings for Tests.

May or may not succeed at the highest level.

Filling Jaddu's shoes in tests is next to impossible.

Let's see, players improve with guidance and backing.

Nishant is making his mark felt in FC. Plus don't have much fitness issues as well.

We have to groom someone at least. Now that process can begin.

We are not wanting for good accurate SLAOs in domestic cricket tbh. Good right arm offies and leg spinners otoh yes.

Both of them will be motivated for either Australia series or WTC final.

I am sure Ashwin wants to go on a high as well

I want Ashwin to call retirement after the home season. Kuldeep, Jaddu enough for Aus.

Sai Kishore will eventually make it to Indian test team, based on his last few Ranji seasons. He is also working on his batting.

If you want a genuine pace allrounder, Nitish is better bet than Venkatesh at the moment. Venkatesh is a 125kph dibbly dobbly bowler. Nitish has some ability though with the ball and is quite young as well.

Other option (comparatively easier) is to look for spin allrounder at your genuine one..and use Harshit Rana as your no 8.

Has to be at Chennai then...

Chennai is first test against Bangladesh. We have 4 more tests in the home season.

He may look to sign off against NZ, a team against which he has 3 man of the series awards in test cricket, by far his favorite opponent.

How many of you remember that when IPL started in 2008 the rules regarding player signing was much different ... Each team had to sign up one u-19 player and develop them. RCB signed Kohli (courtesy Charu Sharma , Director of cricket ?? ) and RR signed Jaddu. KKR signed Shrivats Goswami I think.

What a signing for some of the franchisee

I think he won't go that soon... Especially with Australia tour coming up this winter.

All seniors want a crack at them after November 19.  This is bigger for them.  That's the pinnacle after all.. the only rivalry that matters
