Yeah. Great swing, decent pace, handy batsman.

Those mid 2000s guys had decent careers - won trophies etc but could have been so much more in a better system

Irfan got wrecked due to obsession with speed. Irfan was a tighter left-arm version of RP Singh, with big swing and being around 130kph, with his effort ball being in the 135 zone. His bread and butter was the good length ball that either holds it line & slants away from the right hander or nips back in and gets him lbw/bowled.

When some batsmen dealt with his swing well ( and worldclass batsmen on their day will do well against swing bowlers on good batting pitches), he tried to bowl too fast, got injured, then modified his action and lost even more pace ( became a 120kph bowler) and a bit of swing as well. The end of irfan pathan.

Iran's other problem was success gone over his head. In his earlier days Wasim Akram was helping him but later he stopped going to him. Once in commentry Wasim Akram was asked that did he me Irfan, he said not from past 2 years. Gavaskar at that time angrily said listen all youngsters the legend are not going to come to teach you, you have to go to them if you want help.

Not true. Irfan was getting upto early 140's even in his debut series and it was easy pace without exerting himself.

I always knew that Arshdeep can pick up early wkts due to swing and extra bounce etc but my concern before start of the tournament was his death bowling in IPL..but he bolwed so well and complemented Bumrah..esp on the big occassion it mattered..he didnt let David Miller hit him..and made job relatively easy for Pandya..

Though I want him to add more speed..but inspite of that what he bring sto the table is very good too..

Tall seamer..who swings the ball..and extracts bounce when he bends his back..good bouncers..

Good death bowling..

improved his fielding..

improving his batting..

You need such kind of positive and hard working people..who may start as normal but with hard work become very good..

The bojo forgets that their whole nation talks about Shaheen's spell to India where he got our openers out..

simllar spell and damage was done by this normal bowler against their team in Aus..

anyways..if their team is below normal..then our normal bowler is an upgrade over them..

Let's be honest arshdeep is better than shaheen. Can we all agree on that? Would you rather shaheen or arshdeep?

I am not sure of that...I have seen him hitting 130-137 & Balaji around 128-135 as peak pace.

140's he may hit that once or twice. But not consistently

Arshdeep. Bowls well in all phases.

Shaheen is a new ball bowler and even that inswing is gone.

I have seen him hit 144 once in Pak,but those speed guns over there will be the last ones to believe

In the same series Sultan of half vollies Sami delivered something above 164:wp23:

That was accepted as glitch there and then

So legitimacy is always in question
