Pandya recently asked for leave from SL ODIs, also announced divorce today. Clearly not in the right mental space for last few months, even that IPL controversy. Ok to not burden him with captaincy, also there is the issue of fitness.

I am just feeling extremely frustrated with Gill...first this guy pushed Abhishek Sharma to number 3..and played zimbaber cricket..to ensure his stats..and then now got him removed from SL T20s..and himself become VC..

 

I am fine for Gill in ODIs and Tests to some extent but has he taken T20s by the storm..why he is being preferred over a firey talent like Abhishek..Jswal and Abhishek could have been a fearful opening pair if they performed to their potential..

Sharma should have been given 10 T20 matches in opening before making a judgement on him..

do you want to win next t2o cup or not..

agarkar /gg /selectors know this well that abhishek is an ideal batsman for T20 and odi's, Gill is not the best fit for a T20 and if he starts playing these reckless dangerous hack shots like SKY , his technique for tests will go for a toss. 

whats the point of playing a technically sound copy book batsman ahead of a guy who was beating Head in IPL and scoring runs at max strike rate.  

GILL should be in 11 for tests and ODI's and not picked for t20"s.

Harshit got lucky as Hardik dropped himself else hardik would have played in ODI's.

DUbe fits into T20 but is he a genuine all rounder who can bowl 5 to 6 overs in ODI. i would target him and score more runs as he is a WEAK bowler and DEFINITELY not some one to be played in an INDIAN ODI 11.

T20Is: No Abhishek, no Harshit, Siraj selected when he's not a T20 bowler

 

ODIs: No Jaiswal, no Rinku, and KL Rahul the panauti back. Plus Dube in for absolutely no reason other than that he plays for CSK. Prefer Venkatesh Iyer instead but looks like players from certain franchises are more "equal" than others 

 

We deserve to under-perform at intl level with such myopic selections. Dropping Abhishek after a 40 ball 100, and no Jaiswal in ODIs when he's a shoo in Tests & T20s, and ideally suited for ODIs

Dropping Abhishek makes no sense. Not that I think he is going to be great but after what he has done in last tour he should have played here.

 

I maybe in a minority, the more Abhishek plays, the more he is going to be found out. I hope I am wrong in my assessment.

We already know what you think of Indian youngsters based on your thread taking shots at them after the 1st Zim T20I and then going missing after they made you eat your words

I don't understand the logic of Gambhir asking Rohit and Kohli to play odis.It could have been used to let youngsters play.

 

It does not make any difference if they score 3 100s or 3 zeros. They both wil be fine for CT as they will be playing lot of tests.

We have just 6 ODIs before CT.

 

And Rohit & Kohli haven't played ODIs in while. Since they are sure-shot in CT, it is preferable that they play all the 6 ODIs from now on.

 

Youngster batters can be tried in T20Is with the T20 WC 2 years away.

Do you really think they need to play odis to get into grove for CT. 

 

 I can understand t20s but odis, I don't think there is any need but anyways it will be interesting to see how they gel under Gambhir.

 

 

On side note Jaiswal should be playing all three formats.
