Hockey was choked with seniority culture till circa 2017 or '18. Sardara Singh was the last of the so called senior superstar and entire team had to be accommodated around him. Next batch very unselfish, don't even clamour for captaincy or superstar status (plagued by this nonsense since the days of Ajit Pal, Mohd Shahid, then Dhanraj).....Manpreet, Sreejesh, Harmanpreet all were captains but happy to pass around the duties, and always giving 100% under the other captains, no ego clash. Also now, nobody's place in squad is guaranteed, and no room for selfishness or stats obsession in forwards.

Many of his points were standing smashes. The smash from above is potent but by now everyone on tour expects it so they have some sort of answer to it.
