True Gold Medal winners are hard to come by in a country like India which is not a sporting nation anyways.

 

Shooting is the only sport that is harnessing the potential. All others are just based on individual potential.

Badminton is being funded enough in India.

 

Sorry to say but guys like Gopichand who himself was never an attacking player can produce attacking players.Same goes with Padukone academy from which Lakshaya Sen comes.

 

 

Don't they have Olympic gold quest also to get funds from Corporations.

Hope next time we have both Lakshya and him as seeded.

They win one or two matches they are in Qfs. Stop acting as if these guys are reaching QFs after winning so many matches.

Can’t blame Media everytime. People complain India doesn’t give importance to other sports other than cricket and how Indian team under performs etc, and now when they are giving inportance we are saying media shouldn’t hype. Media is doing fine in this. Players are reaching q/fs, they will cover them. No two ways about it.

India had 4 badminton male players in top 20. Prannoy srikanth lakshya b sai praneeeth. Sai praneeth retired and is now pursuing a coaching career in usa.

Yes, Badminton too has a more organized setup in India with multiple academies throughout the country and a potential badminton player know where to go to get the best coaching. But right now we have Lakshya Sen and Satwik-Chirag as truly world class. Hope someone else breaks out sooner than later.

 

The only 3 sports right now where we can harness the Gold medal winning mentality.

Prannoy late bloomer and Praneeth, Srikanth never had high ceilings.
