Kamboj averaged 38 aa a bowler in FC Cricket before this match. Just 27 wicket from 14 games. Shows that this is an one off performance till now.  We need consistent performers. 

 

Plus he is a medium height medium pacer. We need all-condition pacers.

He is around 6'1. Needs work on his pace.

5'10" to 6'0" or 6'1" is medium height for pacers. 

 

6'1" is a borderline height. If a pacer gets steep bounce from a high release point then the pacer feels tall. If he does not get steep bounce from a high release point then he feels medium height. 

 

Kamboj looks around 6'0" to me.

I am not watching it live but going by the scoreboards it seems that lot of incumbent/fringe players taking this lightly. Long season ahead might also be the reason. If selectors give chances to Duleep performers next season onwards standards could go up by few notches.

This Duleep Trophy has been a useless exercise imo. Siraj not well,Rohit,Kohli,Bumrah did not play. No Shami. No Jadeja. Kuldeep,Jaiswal,Gaikwad,Iyer and others had ordinary matches. TBH,im slightly worried about Bangla. Their fast bowlers,spinners,lower order ,tail all are in great form and our maharathis haven't played red ball cricket in a while.

Most of our playing 11 have taken Bangladesh lightly. I think Bangladesh would surprises us.

The selection of KL Rahul may have dampened the spirit of youngsters. 

The team management will play all the seniors and Sarfaraz,Jurel,Akashdeep will not be in the playing 11.

They will select Axar in place of Kuldeep for his batting. 

All the seniors should have been made to play atleast one Duleep Trophy match.

Even Indian team would be in top form if it played on roads of Paxtan.

 

Their batting line up is extremely weak & our bowling should be too much for them.

With Shoriful out pace attack lacks bite bar young Rana.

 

You can't surprise India with Nahid Mehedi Liton only

 

Only conditions like Mirpur where lohli dropped dozens of catches of Liton in 2nd inns could help Bangla cause an upset.

This A, B, C, D nonsense has made playing for the Duleep have no significance. I mean the players are randomly put into teams with no loyalty. So if C wins it - nobody will remember nor will it mean anything a month from now.

 

At least IPL teams are privately owned and attached to a city - purely capitalistic.

 

The zonal squads for Duleeps were next best - but trying to equalize everything a la that gutter filth of communism ruins everything.

 

These are like practice matches with everyone playing for their spot, playing for their place and no one is playing as a team with team interests in a team game.

The zonal system ie East,West,North,South,Central.was  were the best format.

 

The can select 2 best team from Duleep Trophy and play a series between them and added bonus could be the India A team would be selected from this 2 teams

I am speculating here but i think they went away from Zonal teams because certain zone like the West zone and south zone were better and many good players from that zone couldnt get into the 11.If the object of the tournament is to find the next player to represent India in A teams and the senior team than this is the way to go
