Chakdephatte
He has not picked any of Rohit, Bumrah, and Shami in his team Plus who plays Kohli at 5? What's the need to have Dravid take his position? And Ashwin is mostly an average ODI bowler. Man, what a random team. This is the Indian head coach for you. Sgattick10 and Chaos 2 Link to comment

Majestic
Lol at Sachin at 4 and Kohli at 5. Seems like a test match top 5 followed with two white ball finishers. Link to comment
Majestic
Gambhir has mixed formats guys. Top 5 seems pretty solid from Test lineup perspective and then you have two fantastic white ball finishers. In bowling, he has picked those big names he played with. Link to comment

Serpico
7 out of those 11 players are from the legendary 2007 wc team. What a team that was, didn't disturb a single exam for me that summer! Majestic and Chaos 2 Link to comment
Ultimate_Game
He has simply picked the team from 2006-2012, i.e. the players he played alongside. That's why no Kapil, Bumrah, Shami or Gavaskar (in Tests). Rohit was still not that great in that time period so missed out. AuxiliA and Sandz 2 Link to comment
zen
I think it is a pace bowler short despite having both Kumble & Ashwin who can bowl with a new ball. It is like an 11 that you would play in SL. My recommendation from his pick is to replace Dravid (and he is not even keeping) for an 11 like below: Tendulkar Sehwag Gambhir Kohli Yuvi Dhoni Irfan Ashwin Kumble Zak Nehra or Agarkar (can bat too) or equivalent (from those who played with GG) Link to comment

But he used to when Gambhir was on the fringes, and shared the dressing room with Kumble for a while. Gambhir simply selected the team based on the players he played with. Though Kumble didn't play too many ODIs at the end as his career was winding down, he was our main spinner for a while. Link to comment
