Any idea where is D Padikkal.  Is he playing Duleep trophy? (I would rather hv him in place of kela in tests)

I am also thrilled for Pant,many on ICF even thought he will never play again and yet here is is playing again after just 1 FC game.

Naa,Paddii is the last one I would want even Kela is good compared to him

Maybe thats the case.    I hv not followed him lately.  But in the only test Padikkal played against Eng at home, he scored 50+ in one inning. IIRC.

But overall, this is the best possible squad. No injuries so that's good.

He should have infact elevated himself to "irreplaceable" guy in the side after that SF ATG knock atleast in Odis and tests

That SF knock by Iyer against NZ (on the smallest & flattest wankhede ground) did more long term damage to our team.  Relieved that finally he has been thrown out.

But if you think from his and fans perspective,they and he himself had more expectations

Iyer is done in T20 and Test.

 

OdI is his best format and he should concentrate on reinventing himself in that format. Otherwise, he will just have an IPL career moving forward.

Next ODI WC is in SA where we are likely to see tennis ball bounce.  Iyer won't last 10 balls against top teams.
