Australia series could be a drubbing

Recommended Posts

Again not following games very closely, but I see a big time drubbing coming in Australia. Australia has everything to play for to win back the BG trophy and humiliate India.

Oddly reminds somewhat of 2012 series where we were carrying some folks at similar stage of career as Kohli and Rohit. Australia tour generally serves as career Terminator for many laggards and bright ones becomes heroes.

Bowling looks okay actually. But it's batting which will really get tested. Apart from Pant and Gill no one was on previous tour. Rohit to some extent but he didn't perform.

This will be tough for Gambhir to manage. Team is not sharp and batting will get tested. Australia is always dangerous when they are motivated to respond. India have won two away series in a row. So...

Yes, not getting a good feeling about the series at all, ever since we slumped to three down for next to nothing against BD recently. The 46 all out collapse against NZ reinforced the concerns. The Aussies will be eager to avenge the last two home series losses and our batting is very fragile, with washed up players making up the majority of the lineup. Bowling is also iffy with Shami out and Bumrah at risk of wearing himself out. The erratic Siraj is the only other *senior* option we have. We should have tried one more new bowler like Akashdeep.

Too late now and the A team have Saini,Mukesh,Dayal,Khaleel.

In today test they could have tried Harshit or Mayank as they have selected them in reserve.

Bumrah is overworked

Shami is recovering

Siraj is off radar

Akashdeep is new

Akashdeep like many other new fast bowlers bowls too many boundary balls.India does not have anyone who will do damage with new ball.Bumrah needs a break.

If today was in Australia , score would have been 350/3 .

Bowling doesn't look ok too.

Pacers

Bumrah - Solid (shouldn't be overworked)

Shami - Doubtful to start

Siraj - Bhai tu rehne de

Then newbie pacers

Spinners

Ashwin - No guarantee

Jaddu - You know what to expect

Washi - Good support bowler but would be madness to expect him to do the job of a main spinner

Kuldeep - Huge potential but dunno if he would be played

Axar - Won't get a chance

On top of that, we have the LEGENDARY captaincy of Rohit Sharma who would make even bowlers going through a good spell look bad with his field placements lol.

All in all, we have a cluster* on our hands.

Lots of things to sort.

Gambo and his team have a huge task on their hands.

Rohit needs fire otherwise India are doomed. Before he was just player but now he is captain, if Australia get top of him it will be all over.

Rohit has 7  test innings since Bangladesh test series only 1 half century.

Not sure why Rohit was defending today should have attacked as they were quite a few overs bowled.

After Rahul exit focus shifts to other seniors

The core of the team

Jaiswal

Pant

Bumrah

Is good. The team should be constructed around them

Gill,

Sarfaraz

Would have to up their game.

Siraj

Should get in wicket taking form.

Akashdeep

Has shown he could be good support bowler.

Ashwin

Jadeja

Should do what they always do ,put some runs when needed and take wickets in the middle overs.

Virat

Rohit

Plays their average game and are successful in 2,3 innings we can win the series.

Shami

If gets match fit,the bowling will get better.

The rest of the squad should be choose such.that they are ready to perform whenever their is opportunity

Sundar

Will be good addition.

The main headache will be selection of support fast bowler, which it looks like

Mukesh,

Will be preferred.

Rahul

Will be back in squad on experience quota.

Kohli with his current indifferent form and attitude will be taken to cleaners. So will be Rohit who is at risk of finishing his career as Rohit, same stage where he spent his lengthy formative years. It will be a travesty if we play KL but he will be played and he will piss in his pants when the Aussies hunt him as a pack of Wolves. They will add Ruturaj as backup opener who will also lay eggs.

Jaiswal, Pant, Gill and Sarfaraz need to step up when played. Remember one of them, likely Sarfaraz will always get droped as TM will play seniors.

There is total mismanagement in selection of support bowlers.

Mayank, Harshit, Nitish are selected as travel.reserve and it is made clear they will be in selected for the Australia series. Then why they are not being played against New Zealand.

On today test match there would be no pressure on fast bowlers as bulk of the bowling would be done by spinners. They could have rested Bumrah and select new pacer.

The A team have Mukesh, Saini,Dayal and Khaleel. Most probably Mukesh would be selected as he is with the team from last.year.

Ideally Harshit, Mayank, Nitish should have been with A team .

Selectors have not identified replacement for Rohit,Virat and Rahul.

Reserve openers are not given enough exposure. Eashwaran, may be front runner but it seems the team management is not impressed with him.

The selectors have not identified any middle order batsmen and it portrays that there is no substitute for Rahul.

A team consist of openers and middle order batsmen are Bhui and Indrajit.

 may be a 2-1 or 1-1 or 1-2

but it will not be a drubbing for sure --

What is missing is pujara's role....to tire the bowlers and ready to take the blows
