Won us the World T20 and got 55 wickets in test cricket at an average of around 15. He has even surpassed Root's year if you ask me. 

 

ICC player of the year is inevitable but Root may get ahead for test player.

he should get them all, but Eng bias is strong. they will find a way to give stokes some award too

Root got found out on tough pitches. Didn’t look any different from our clueless maharathis. Bumrah has been relentless on any pitch in any format in any condition. I don’t think there was any cricketer even light years close this year. I think 2023 was Travis Heads year with WC final and Ashes, Bumrah has topped that by taking 5fr at home, legendary performances in WC and BGT and don’t think had a bad game the enter year.

Root still gets 30-40 consistently on tough pitches, he rarely looks out of sorts, never seen that quality in a player since Sachin. Our maharathis need luck to score that many on pattas these days.
