We are destined to lose this test in the most painful way possible

How come Australia is struggling to beat this Indian side?

I am blown away by the fact that we can STILL win the series from here (theoretically).

Imagine if we win this series and Rohit is declared as the best captain by PR?

India lost 1-4 in England in 2018 and we were wayyyyyyyy better there.

Here we are 1-1 and we have been beyond pathetic.

Stats lol.

yeah we basically have one bowler and our best batsman is batting at 8 lmao

Australia are playing literally the same team which had lost 4 test series to us in 8 years. And now they are even older. Most of our guys are still in their primes. It's just the 2 dead weights Ro-Kho that are dragging us down.

Before the series started I was genuinely expecting a series win for us even after the 0-3 debacle at home.

This is a series between two over the hill ageing teams. There are more passengers than actual performers. Aus have been better overall but not pressed home the advantage.

Rohit has been the main factor. Else we'd won like Perth

Run rate is already out of stretch. It will be an incredible chase if it happens. Chasing close to 4 rpo on day 5 is a long shot.

Runrate is not an issue, if we can go past 50 overs with just 3-4 wickets lost, our lower order is capable of accelerating. But I just don't have confidence on our top order

yes draw is unlikely unless they bat another half hour.

if top order can survive 35-40 overs we can push for a win

Starc looked very uncomfortable in first innings. If our top order manages to hold him off in first spell, this match can be drawn

Cummins too has been batting or bowling or been in the field every session from day 2.

This test seems eerily similar to gabba 2021 but getting totally oposite vibes from the way events are going.

First innings jaiswal run out, pant stupidity, jaiswal 3 dropped catches then DSP dropping lyon and the last wicket adding 50+.

The way things are going I won't be surprised if we are cruising tomorrow and then just collapse and then fightback only to lose by 10 runs.

This game just has that vibes!

@rollingstoned @Lord @Vijy @nitinbwj

The most painful was the  last wicket unbroken stand, Lyon and Boland and the worst tail enders not expected to last more than 1-2 overs.

Pant will be a huge factor here. He definitely won't be going for a draw!

Plus I think if India draw we are out of the wtc finals. Stakes are huge here. India will go for the win no matter what the target is unless we are like 40-4 or something

No they won't be, only if they lose  will they be out of WTC. With a draw here and even in the next Test at Sydney, India will remain in contention for the WTC Finals. A Victory would be the best, so India can take a draw here and try again at Sydney..no point losing in this Test otherwise they will be out of WTCs race..

No if we win the series 2-1 then Aus would need to whitewash SL 2-0 to qualify, which isn't certain or even likely.
