Apart from Independence Cup final, Ganguly had a terrific 140 in the 99-00 tri-series in Aus, against an ATG attack. That was our only win in that entire tour. Dada also won MOTS in Canada, destroyed them there even with the ball a couple of times. Then his MOTS effort in 2007 home series, 500+ runs in 3 tests !!!!

There's a difference between the rabid stump grabbing 90s and express pace of shoaib 2000s to his watered down version of rivalry in the last 10 years...

I will stick to my guns. Thank you .

He can only play who is infront of him lol

Again this nonsense that Sachin somehow faced better attacks. When fact is clear he did not face better attacks and when faced with decent attacks he did not do that great either.

In addition to ones listed

Anil Kumble

MS  Dhoni

Laxmipathy Balaji

Also, honorable mention for Robin Singh. He swung a couple of chases against Paxtan in our favor which was a BIG deal back in his time.

He was instrumental in registering first ever international win in Pakistan.

Can Hrishikesh Kanitkar be considered ?

That boundary will remain forever be etched in the minds of Indians.

All the hardwork by Sachin, Ganguly & Robin would have failed if not for that shot. Amazing display of pressure handling

Then you should include Rajesh chauhan too lol  From extreme noise -> Deafening silence with one shot. One common thing between him and Kanitkar is both hit winning runs against Saqlain mushtaq.

Scored 98 vs Akram, Bekar & Akhtar

At age of 18 scored 52(40) against Akram, Bekar, Imran, Aaqib.

Scored 100 against likes of Saqlain, Bekar, Mushtaq when the next best score was 41.

One team where he really struggled struggled though was SA. But that was with every Indian batter of his times. Donald was one pacer who actually troubled Sachin.

Yes. Rajesh Chauhan also needs to be considered. Thrashing Saqlain Mushtaq for a six to win a close game is quite an achievement.

That 98 was scored against Waqar and Wasim  playing their last match on a flat pitch. If that is his best innings against them then there is nothing else to add.

when you play 463 matches you are bound to score some knocks against every team.

Now that @rollingstoned reminded me, Sadagopan Ramesh deserves an honorable mention. Played them very well in 1999-00 in both the 3 tests in India, and ODIs. Against a damn good bowling attack.

Can't believe he had such a short career, always seemed to make tough runs.

If bashing in an innings is considered then nobody comes close to 10 wicket in an innings by Anil Kumble at the Kotla.

8 wickets in innings on placid wicket at Lahore by Kapil Dev.
