9zaesm Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 (edited) The CDS interview created so much noise . What has changed ? Yes , we could have placed someone better to answer or prepared the CDS better for a global media interview. But he has said nothing different from what was told to us before. 1. We knew and were told losses are part of operations. All pilots are safe. 2. We achieved our objectives and it’s how the operation should be measured and called success or failure - Make no mistake what we see on X the melt down and what the Pakistan keyboard warriors are saying . There’s a greater risk going for targets and showing restraint ( not hit pak military & civilians ) - This decision can be debated ! But this was our first response to terror attack in which we hit mainland pakistan. We had to show the world we are targeting terror outfits only - The CDS should have pointed this out to Bloomberg if Pakistani are celebrating our jet losses what ever the numbers . Anyone with half pea size brain should know this is no feat as our plan was not to hit pak army and yet we achieved it with no pilot loss . This is an achievement and to be proud off. We can debate this decision but should not doubt IAF capabilities! - if I was a Pakistani , I would be thinking of how India managed to hit all planned targets with no fighter pilot loss and managed to collect all evidences. This is a big failure on pak. What are we expecting from our Army : 0 asset loss , hit all targets and oh yea don’t forget **** tons of evidence as well since last time they didn’t believe us! I believe bigger risks were taken to satisfy and make sure opposition party keeps shut . Inki sune to bolege selfie bhi leke ana.. What is hurting us : Operation Sindoor is not over. I support the GOI but this decision is whats hurting us . IAF cannot provide numbers loss vs assets taken out by IAF . The real picture! This would have layed all speculations to rest! This is the only answer I am searching for in order for our army to present hard facts and conclusions- This is the reason why we are losing the narrative if not already did . We needed to call the operation off successfully. The delay gave opportunity to the enemy and known media houses that stand against India. What Pakistan did better is call off there chaddi baniyan using there own ceasefire request and announcing victory ! I fail to understand what the GOI plan to conclude operation Sindoor. I don’t see any more action unless Pakistan violates ceasefire. Highly doubt , make no mistake we hit them at will once the playing field was levelled and the escalation ladder had reached to the level of hitting key army airbases. And yes, credit is definitely due to the PAF for their initial success. If you aren't able to be objective about that simple fact, thats on you. As far as 'illiteracy' goes, you consistently make fine demonstrations of your literacy levels. I really don't need to say much on that point. raki05 1

ravishingravi Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 Seems like India's strategy is to keep them engaged on so many fronts that they just don't know where to focus and implode. Imagine in middle of all this noise, IWT is in abeyance. Now whether we can divert the flow immediately or not, we certainly can disrupt the flow which has am adverse impact on agriculture driven economy. Balochistan to also be squeezed with all forces on western front.
MechEng Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 (edited) @9zaesm while what you say is correct, it's just that our sloppy narrative should not come to bite back at us in the future which in turn may armtwist our deterrence options. Edited June 2, 2025 by MechEng

This is not an issue of capability, but this is a generational gap, most of our politicians and bureaucrats, all the decision makers are 70+, our NSA is 80, our military generals are 60+, most of them are stuck in 20th century, do they even know how 21st century tech works, today SM is equally as important as MSM if not more. Heck, we don't even have tri-service DG Information Warfare and Strategic Planning, let that sink in. Do we even have an international media house that reports news from an Indian perspective, like the US has CNN, NYT, WaPo, UK has BBC, China has CGTN, SCMP, Russia has RT, Turkey has TRT World, Qatar has Al Jaejera, all major to middle to powers invest in media, What do we have Doordarshan, and let's be honest, do even Indians watch Doordarshan? We do not understand how important narrative is today's globalized world, the world might have moved from colonization, but it has just shifted towards economic domination, and narrative is important in today's globalized world, because if it was military and violence to occupy the countries to kill their future till 20th century, today it's economic sanctions to do the same. China has invested more that 6 billion dollars in international media, we cannot even invest 4-5 billion in jet engine, all we do is laadli behen yojana, they have content sharing agreements with international media, they paid WaPo, WSJ etc for content placement to run a weekly article called China Watch, that allows them to push their narrative, they cultivated sympathetic journalists who can push editorial bias in favor of China, they have 100s of foreign bureaus. All state backed media backed directly or indirectly, push their narrative not just Chinese news network, but all other countries, whether it's BBC, CNN, Al Jajeera, they all push their narrative in the name of fair and objective reporting. Indian government banned TikTok in 2020, which is an alright decision, I do not blame the government for it, it was a correct decision from national security POV, but they had no foresight to maintain international presence on TikTok to counter anti India propaganda, the amount damage that has been done on TikTok, I don't know how long will it take to undo that. Chinese have banned the western SM in China, but they still have massive international presence on X to counter any anti Chinese narrative. Also you need to look inwards as well, we need urgent police and jusdicial reforms, don't give the adversaries opportunities to use your weakness to run propaganda against you, sorting your internal mess is also important. I will be honest countries like China, Israel have much better understanding and strategy to deal with information warfare than our boomer decision makers, who I am not sure, if they even understand this. We seriously need some young people in Ministry of I&B who understand Genz and how today's tech works. We learned from our mistakes in Balakot from military POV and improved, I am sure we will learn from our mistakes in Operation Sindoor, but we didn't learn anything from information warfare in 2019, and I am not hopeful we will do it in 2025, not until there is a generational change in our leadership. It has nothing to do with in which camp you are in, but the problem is our own inability to understand the issues and fill the gaps. After witnessing AAP's dramatic fall, no one from younger generation including millenials like us have any interest in joining politics. And I cannot blame them, who wants to deal with babudom on daily basis?

But we also needs to understand whom we're speaking about. Its Pakistan, given our history and the way their common public think about us, I dont think any word can justify it. Pakistan, specially Pakjabis are even more backward (mentally) than the tribes living in Sentinal Island. The amount of hatred they carry against India in their veins, courtesy of their upbringing isnt match by any. And, even the talks that they do on youtube or other SM mediums are just a facade to garner views. They call out themselves as the leader of Islamic world, yet the same leader was divided in two parts once in 1971 and now the groups within that country wants freedom from them. Imagine that Pakistan's 2 more volatile borders are with Islamic countries (Afg & Iran)...what a hypocrite they are. And dont think that common people are any different from the military. They are the ones who choose them to be in power, so they're equally responsible. Lastly, I'm not salty about what you said. I understand the work culture in US is vastly different than India. Given the rise of woke culture, libbus and history of racism, US is more strict about that in the workspace. India is more open about the workplace. "Chinese think drones are toys" Sad to see that Russia wasn't prepared for changing war dynamics. They faced the same issue during Cold War as well, while US worked hard in expanding their network through NATO, CETO, SENTO....USSR just had ties with weak countries of East Europe via Warsaw Pact. Russia is always late to adapt, courtesy of their Communism/Socialist inclined policies which leaves little room for the Pvt. Players. Though they are self sufficient and their geographical advantage help them to make a comeback...but world is changing very rapidly and by the time they gear up to retaliate, next gen of weapons may come in. I still think India should do a diplomatic visit to Russia immediately and help them recover from these losses. They have technology, but lack in manpower and strategy. We have manpower and strategy, its tech where we are dependent on others. raki05 1

IndianRenegade Posted June 3, 2025 Posted June 3, 2025 (edited) India quickly needs to start investing in tech like Red Dragon pallets. India's strategic depth would allow us to deploy the AGMs of our choice from very safe standoff distance. This would allow our fighter jets to be freed for CAP missions, while these saturate the enemy air defenses. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapid_Dragon_(missile_system) Edited June 3, 2025 by IndianRenegade
