Popular Post nevada Posted July 12, 2025 Popular Post Posted July 12, 2025 Other than Dhawan who gracefully mentioned Gill as a better pick than himself and Ashwin who walked away mid series, none of the senior cricketers have been realistic in their self assessment. Being carried for years despite pathetic returns, years past their sell by date, and still can't acknowledge the passage of time wrt to their careers. wanted_desi, Sgattick10, Frustrated and 17 others 2 9 9
Popular Post Ultimate_Game Posted July 12, 2025 Popular Post Posted July 12, 2025 (edited) Rahane, Pujara, Kohli, Rohit and other oldies can play domestic cricket. We don't want any of them back in intl cricket across any format. The batting is doing well since these oldies were kicked out. If we had made these changes 4-5 years earlier we would've won series in SA and Eng. These useless batters cost us so many series due to their non-performances. Gavaskar was another who quit when playing very well. Every other India star and semiistar has displayed zero self awareness. But it looks like Gavaskar has been inspired by the likes of Rohit and Kohli when it comes to his commentary career :( Lord, Norman, nevada and 1 other 4

Gollum Posted July 13, 2025 Posted July 13, 2025 He has every right to have his ambition, that is what separates elite sportspersons from general crowd...they always feel they have one last fight in them. Job of selectors to do the logical thing.

MOTS against Pak in 2007 home series (550+ runs in 3 tests), and handy contribution in our 2008 BGT win, then called it quits. Even Kumble, like Ashwin, didn't linger long, once his shoulder gave up he quietly handed over the captaincy cap to Dhoni and retired.....Kumble isn't talked about enough, he was our greatest matchwinner of 90s and 00s, for 2 decades. raki05 Posted July 13, 2025 Posted July 13, 2025 Kapil paaji started this selfish retirement for record and thats when it started from there. BacktoCricaddict and nevada 1 1
BCCISelector Posted July 13, 2025 Posted July 13, 2025 I don't see Gambhir wanting to go back to Rahane, even if he has a 1000-run Ranji season. His only hope of playing another Test is BCCI hosting a farewell Test for Kohli, Rohit, Ashwin, Pujara and Rahane against a minnow like Zimbabwe or Afghanistan.
