Mariyam Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 To all the experts here: What is going on? What does the 25% change? Will we lose the competitive cost edge with IPhone production? Will the rupee weaken? Will our IT exports to the US suffer? And more importantly, in the long run does this mean we are firmly with Russia and somehow China and us reach some sort of mutual agreement to form an economic bloc with the Russians against the West? BRICS just received a shot in the arm? Prakat, mishra, coffee_rules and 1 other 1 1 1 1
IndianRenegade Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Electronics are exempt from tariffs & IT exports are services not goods, as such there are no tariffs on services. also nothing is certain with TACO, so let’s see. Mariyam and mishra 1 1

They paved the way for an IMF bailout to Pak in the middle of Op Sindoor. Anderson , the CEO of Union Carbide is living guilt free in the US. Courts won’t even suo motto against him. Tillu 1

Mariyam Posted July 31, 2025 Author Posted July 31, 2025 The model immigrant community with the highest median household income in the US : ie Indians are very ineffective politically. Inspite of all the CEOs and financial muscle, Indian lobby/caucuses are very weak. Can’t get anything done in favour of India. The US based NRI, the first ones to tell Indians in India how to live and chastise us on our practices/secularism/ habits etc are surprisingly ineffective and don’t display much patriotism in opposing Trumps policies. US should be our natural ally, instead it is a borderline hostile state. Gollum, AuxiliA, randomGuy and 2 others 2 2 1

Those are incidents. US gave us a nuclear deal. The economic interests of US are one of the reasons for rise of Indian non-merchant middle class. I myself work for a US investment bank in Hyderabad. They go out of their way to promote talent from different nationalities. For example, compare with east asian nations like Korea. Their companies, are rumored, to have different rest rooms and eating places for their own people. That is a pretty insulated behaviour that i hate. https://www.greatandhra.com/politics/andhra-news/no-entry-for-indians-in-aps-korean-restaurants-134664 Regarding Pakistani-land, they have nuclear weapons. They are doing the black mail diplomacy. Plain and simple. Regarding that Anderson guy, let's be clear. It's the same everywhere. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visakhapatnam_gas_leak It was from a LG chemical factory. But did we chase their CEO? No.

No. It's not the same america under trump and it's going to change for the long term. There is no point talking about the past, NRIs who supported Trump and GOP have scored a major own goal. You cannot compare America of the past with what it's today. There are many dominos which has been placed for long term, the effect of which NRIs will see in the next couple of decades. Life is going to be very difficult for the NRI Americans, particularly their kids. kepler37b 1

They are pseudo patriotic and fake Hindus who spread religious hatred back home in india, they are most active online and push hateful agendas everywhere while enjoying peace and liberty where they live in America. They don't have a single positive contribution to india. They have next to no influence in America as they are mostly boot lickers of white Americans and have no identity of their own than serving them. They will always align themselves with whatever their masters want and will intentionally choose the most racist side just like some Indians sucked up to the British conquerors. Chaos Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 (edited) Trump in second term is being straight up hitler. Liked him in first term and elections, but how he is going after lot of people and india now is crazy. Or… this is part of a preplanned game. He always liked putin n modi but now straight up goes against them. He hated pakistan in first term and now he is bailing them out at wrong times. He is out for full vengeance and does not care what happens. He already *ing us up by putting queries after queries with irs. Both sides makes in 7 figure plus, everyone getting queries for tax refunds. I got medication from india and there was 200% duty import fee for level 4 medication. Now people are regretting voting for him. He effin up his own image. Fueds with elon (who helped him win) and others. He is basically doing a complete u-turn. Smh. I have a feeling now that india, russia and china might form their own bloc (not BRICS) to piss of usa. Edited July 31, 2025 by Chaos

He is hindu hater jihadi, I wouldn’t be surprise if this guy has hand in Pahalgam incident.
ravishingravi Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 So, I think this much ado about nothing. India might not be good on many things. But our Babudom is good in one thing. Waiting it out. We were poor and hungry for decades and yet didnt choose side. This is nothing. Trump wants to push. India will just leave the ball outside off stump. Mariyam 1

No. Re: South Koreans vs Americans I work in an automobile ancillary factory. One of the clients is Hyundai Motors India, for whom we manufacture a critical component of the brake apparatus for the ICE and the Electric variants. When they listed in India, in Oct 2024, they threw all contract and local manufacturers a party. In that party the Koreans and the Indians ( rather non Koreans) dined in separate rooms. Why would the Koreans not want my company over dinner is still a mystery to me. I am such a great conversationalist and also have extremely brilliant ideas all the time. Not to mention very cute. Americans on the other hand, are all inclusive in their day-to-day dealings with us. As strange as the Korean behaviour is at an interpersonal level, their government hasn't armed Pakistan to the teeth. US people maybe our allies, but the government is hostile to us. From F-16s to battle tanks and a lot of $ which Pak used against India , has come from an acquiescing USA. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I do not know about the LG case from Vizag. I do know and have studied and represented a cohort of the victims of the Bhopal gas tragedy to claim compensation from the State Govt. Anderson overlooked findings of Union Carbide's own QA division which asked him to put extra gauges which would forewarn operators of a potential gas leak. He had those gauges installed at a similar Union Carbide plant in Texas. Bribes were paid to open the plant near a residential area. Next to no compensation was offered. Post the leak the top management fled without following the laid out SOPs. That is at least a charge of negligence. He had to be tried in India. He passed away in the comfort of his home in the US. US refused to extradite him or let us file a case against him in US courts. This after we provided compelling evidence.
Mariyam Posted July 31, 2025 Author Posted July 31, 2025 We should buy more Iranian and Russian oil now. And let Iranian vessels sail under our flag if they are targeted by the US.
