Just do what they do normally. Accept trophy and shake hands. No reason players wanted to not do this while happily playing games v Pak
Suhaan Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 BCCI and GOI now must stay away with any kind of engagement with these shytdwellers in the first place

jf1gp_1 Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Go back and watch the first press conference. Naqvi has himself to blame. Pre tournament captains meeting Sky was cordial and shook hands with Naqvi. Salman agha was the one who turned away and went off. Naqvi then went out to posted that garbage tweet. I would have taken the trophy from him and spoke some nonsense Ultimate_Game, 9zaesm and Suhaan 3

Should be easier if they want to rather than asking poor SKY to front face so much. All I have read is BCCI Secretary saying they will raise this with ICC. What a meek response. SKY and the players should not have had to do all of this if GOI and BCCI did not prioritize money over everything else. Least they can do now is to flex some muscle and show their power. Has the gawar Chairman spoken anything about it? Why was there no BCCI official in the Ceremony as we were the hosts? F@k ACC chairman... We didn't even try to project our own power.
Rajiv Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Should have followed Indian diplomats in the UN after Uri, I think, they just did Namaste and did not shake hands - this is pre-covid
ungboysj Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Bjp has destroyed only one good thing remaining to destroy Indian cricket team Vilander 1

Taking the trophy post the match is our choice. Nothing happened "during the match". That what matters Bro, please stop the BS and giving excuses for these type of behaviours. There was no compulsion - no one was holding a gun to BCCI's head. If they had so much drama pre-planned, why even participate and make team India look like idiots with all these political nonsense. BCCI is literally running cricket. If BCCI wanted, they did not even need to send a team. IND participated on their own, no one told them they had to. If there was so much political issue - should not have participated, period. Since they went there by their own choice, act like sportmen, not idiots. Trophy giving is an important event in any sporting tournament, that's what teams play for. This Asia cup will be remembered for India and Pakistan's political issues that leaked onto the field, not for cricket. Forget India, imagine another team did this, you would not be here defending that team. Rather, would have been shaming them. I remember on this forum people were all up against Usman Kwaja wearing that black band because of a political stance he wanted to take - because of his own belief of what was happening. And ICC acted on it, rightfully so. How is this any different than that? Edited September 29, 2025 by Zero_Unit Lord 1

And ICC acted on it, rightfully so. How is this any different than that? I agree with every inch you said. You're being rational and there is nothing wrong in being the same. However, we all need to understand that not everyone thinks likewise. I dont know any cricketer personally, but there is a possibility that some of them might feel they are forced to play the game else BCCI will ruin their careers. I mean, except Bumrah, I dont think there is any player in this current team who can make the fans crazy...and Bumrah is a bowler. Anyway, there is no doubt that BCCI/GOI did use this tournament as a tool to justify the backlash that they received. But, tbf, Pakistan too didnt left anything to calm the things down. On top of it whatever Indian team did was done after the match, Pakistani were doing it "during" the game. All in all. This tournament was a sham and it ended as a sham. PCB was always a shameless board & BCCI matched with them this time. I just hope GOI/BCCI grow some spine, cancel the Asia Cup forever or atleast tell ICC to not keep Ind-Pak in one group. I dont want to see their filthy faces on my TV. That terrorist nation with their terrorist players can go to whatever hellhole of Lahore and blow themselves off. raki05 and Zero_Unit 1 1

It's upto the BCCI and they were busy with the AGM yesterday, where new office bearers were picked. Otherwise Rajiv Shukla would have definitely been on the dias. Again, BCCI and GOI left everything to the poor cricketers and Modi shamelessly was the first one to tweet with references to Operation Sindoor with other BJP ministers and politicians jumping in almost on a cue, all for the social media. Absolutely gutter level spineless actions from GOI and BCCI in the last 3-4 weeks. Credit to SKY particularly and to GG for keeping the team sane amidst the political drama, though GG should never ever talk about boycott of Pakistan on national media. VT87 and Lone Wolf 2
