rangeelaraja Posted February 17 Posted February 17 1. 2022 T20 WC , 30/4 chasing 160. 28 required of last 8 balls and Virat's superman finish. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/icc-men-s-t20-world-cup-2022-23-1298134/india-vs-pakistan-16th-match-group-2-1298150/full-scorecard 2. 2024 T20 WC, choked chasing a mere 120. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/icc-men-s-t20-world-cup-2024-1411166/india-vs-pakistan-19th-match-group-a-1415719/full-scorecard AKane 1
IndianRenegade Posted February 17 Posted February 17 The Virat knock will remain the greatest t20 game I ever watched considering the context of India vs Pak, the pressure & ability to hit Haris Rauf who at that time was probably in his peak form. Sean Bradley, Norman, Gollum and 2 others 4 1
Sean Bradley Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Virat Knock agree, but something that dented them after Virats knock was Abhishek Sharma's 1st ball six of Shaheen, that dented their confidence, he was their so called 'premier' fast bowler and Abhishek just tore him apart in Asia Cup, they havent recovered from that yet. When they got him out on a not on 15th Feb, their morale was high, but then Ishan Kishan happened out of syllabus. Sgattick10, rangeelaraja, BacktoCricaddict and 2 others 5

Agreed. Virat played a similar clutch knock against Aus in 2016. ( not nearly as clutch as 28 needed of 8 against Pak ). https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/world-t20-2015-16-901359/india-vs-australia-31st-match-super-10-group-2-951363/full-scorecard We needed 39 of last 3 overs chasing againt Aus.

I was chocking in excitement as Virat was going all guns! But years have taken its toll, much of it is just a vague memory.
deepdynamo Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I would also add the Asia Cup ODI match where Kishan & Pandya did that amazing rearguard action on a spicy pitch. Gollum 1
bsriharsha Posted February 17 Posted February 17 (edited) They broke in 2003 first. That was when the fact that Pakistan had never beaten India in world cups was running clear. 2003 with a bowling attack of peak shoaib, wasim and waqar got dismantled. 2011 and onwards were only the logical follow through on that. And that was the second time. We had Engineering Students posting simulations on how they felt the DRS was manipulated to give Sachin not out. The Victim mentality really took hold then. Absolutely Agree! 2003 was when Pakistan realised, Its game over for them
Manucrick Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Kohli and Rahul's centuries in the 2023 Asia Cup crushed Pakistan's spirit and shattered the myth of their elite fast-bowling attack Frustrated, Gollum and Ultimate_Game 1 2
Prabhdeep Singh Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I believe 2023 WC also, they were overwhelmed in Ahmedabad crowd, then Rohit destroyed RAUF and SSA in chase.

Nikhil_cric Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Don't think so. Abhishek's(Asia Cup 2nd game and Kishan's assaults were far more brutal.
LordPrabhzy Posted February 17 Posted February 17 2007- both India pak matches were even and India came out on top 2009, 2010- India T20 team was so bad lucky they didnt face Pak in either tournament 2012- Regular thumping of Pak 2014- Regular thumping of Pak 2916- Regular thumping of Pak 2021 was an aberration for Team India 2022 and 2024 was when Pak realised their own aukaat, then 3 Asia cup whippings in the same tournament.

But they were low stakes, inconsequential games, against fuddu bowling. Nothing comes close to Kohli's 22 MCG knock, it is the Laxman 281 of T20 format. No player from the past, present or future has the aukaat to lace the shoes of the version of Kohli that appeared that day. Edited February 17 by Gollum NameGoesHere 1
Gollum Posted February 17 Posted February 17 2021-22 Pak T20 team was actually quite good, all their bowlers were at their peak versions. If not for Aussies, they would have romped home to win 21 WT20, undefeated. Sharp dip from 23 onwards.
Gollum Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I opened the match thread for the 24 T20 WC game, New York one. For 80% of the match, posters here were giving me a verbal lashing for my panautiness, then we witnessed the ultimate comedy finish, amazing heist that was.

Faster then maybe but not a great bowler. Shaheen was back from injury and wasnt the bowler he was in 2021 maybe. I'm not denying that knock was really good but destroyed PAK psyche ? I doubt it. They wrecked our top order in the first match of the Asia Cup in 2023 which was the first IND v PAK match after this.

Pooks beat RSA, NZ comfortably in that WC, with their **** batting. Needed clutch Stokes to deny them that WC. Even in 21 WC they were damn good, needed something special from Wade and Stoinis to stop them. Edited February 17 by Gollum
