Simarjeet was not picked, think this season, hardly played any game last season too Barar (Spinner forPK ??) Still with PK , they has chahal and bishnoi last season so no place of him, this season they have cooper who can bowl sla. maniac 1

Indian Cricket is all about batters, some % is left for spinners and trundlers. Fast bowlers are 0.000001% encouraged here. No wonder when likes of Ian Bishop or Dale Steyn or Faf...discuss about the pace and history of our quicks, our home grown commies stay silent, coz they have no clue what to add. Sehwag, Sidhu, Gavaskar, Shastri, Chopra, Bhogle, Ashwin....they all are either "cliche masters" or will talk about batting / spinners/ trundlers. In CSK vs KKR game, Ashwin was more in awe of how beautifully Kamboj releases the ball from his hand instead of hitting it hard. He turned out to be another joker who has zero idea of fast bowling. So true, I think the thinking of all the franchises have to change also. Like how they have changed their views on SR in last few years, some franchises are invested in fast bowlers better than others. For batsmen like Sarfaraz, Nair the equation is simple- go back to domestics and pile the runs which they did. however Mohit went from a wc player , CSK regular to a net bowler in a few years. It’s not that easy for these bowlers who are mostly white ball specialists to go back and stand out. So his story is definitely inspiring and an anamoly.
nevada Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I would like to add Rahul Tewatiya to the list. He is still playing, but hardly gets a few deliveries of batting and doesn't bowl. Just 2-3 years ago he was chasing down targets batting alongside Miller and was a critical player for his franchise. Maybe he could have been promoted in the batting order to extract more out of him. A bowler without speed is like a batter without power hitting capability in T20. They go back, learn some gimmicks like slower ball, knuckle ball, cutter (in batters case its paddle sweep, switch hit, dilscoop etc)...which does surprise the batters(bowlers) for a season or two. But in the long run, such gimmicks get exposed. We have seen seasons where Harshal & Unadkut ran riots by fooling every batter. Can they do it now, no they cant, coz batters know what to expect. Mohit Sharma is a different case though. He totally disappeared before reappearing as a net bowler. He in fact even started playing tier 2-3 city tournaments. The others you mentioned Harshal, Sandeep, Unadkut have always managed to stay afloat. singhvivek141 1
