It's that time of the year!!! 

 

With the playoffs close to completion, it is time to pick the most worthless player of IPL 2025. This will be our 15th consecutive year for this thread theme. 

 

Here are winners from prior years:

*REMEMBER*

The most worthless player is a player who is earning big bucks, but performing miserably poorly. The more the bucks and the poorer the performance, the more worthless they are.

Among those listed, it is likely b/w Bumrah and Hetmyer. Since Bumrah’s price tag is higher and he also played more games, my vote goes to him. 
 

Pooran could have been among the options too. Not sure what he has done apart from a cameo here and there.

Bumrah bowled well in a couple of matches at least, in general unlucky. Pant won his side a game, handy contribution in another win IIRC. Green also had 1-2 good games. 

 

It is between SKY and Kuldeep (₹13.5 Cr) for me, and SKY takes it.

Nicholas Pooran was in my original list, but removed him due to his recent improved performances. If there are more requests to add him, I will add him back.

Here's a list of the biggest liability for every team in IPL...

 

PBKS - Chahal (will never make a difference), Wadhera (left-handed Mandeep Singh)

DC - Kuldeep (mentally fragile and one bad over away from a meltdown), Karun Nair (worse than Manish Pandey)

RCB - Jitesh Sharma (weak link in the team)

GT - Sundar (can't bat, can't bowl, can't catch/field), Tewatia (not a good enough batter and doesn't do anything else)

KKR - Rahane (pointless selection as Raghuvanshi is much better and plays the same role), Management (the worst management who manages to get the worst out of everyone)

CSK - Ruturaj (taking up a spot like Rahane), Prashant Veer (don't even know his role - is touted to be an all-rounder but does neither), coaches (don't even know their best XI)

LSG - Pant (regressed massively since his accident), Goenka (probably the worst owner)

MI - SKY (chewing gum specialist), Scouting (went from one of the best scouting to possibly the worst)

RR - Jadeja (even worse than what Sundar is for GT and has no upside)

SRH - Harshal Patel (his time is done)

Along with price tag, I think, minimum 10 games (or at least 7, 50% of league games) played could have be a criteria as well.

Only 4 cr price tag. IPL franchises have realized that he is not that good of a hitter, can get easily bogged down.
