It's that time of the year!!! With the playoffs done, it is time to pick the most worthless player of IPL 2021. This will be our 10th consecutive year for this thread theme. 

 

Here are winners from prior years.

*REMEMBER*

The most worthless player is a player who is earning big bucks, but performing miserably poorly. The more the bucks and the poorer the performance, the more worthless they are.

Eoin Morgan is at least there for his captaincy. Pandya brothers haven't done anything. Dan Christian is probably the most useless.

Dropped one of the easiest catches in Ipl history as a substitute. He isn't playing in main xi but should have done atleast this.

Not a single man of the match performance from 15Cr+ paid players like Virat Kohli, Jamieson, Chris Morris...

I do not care about what IPL franchises pay to the players. To me worth or its lack of comes from a) opportunities given, b) output in terms of impact

 

Based on the above, my focus would usually be on top order (#1-3) batting as these slots get the best opportunities and more or less standard situation, and bowlers who are expected to bowl their full quota. 
 

Based on the above, I have voted for Rohit as 

 

a) The more balls that he played, the more hard work it was for the team (would rather prefer a Pooran who would at least get out if not making an impact)

b) As a captain, should have shown better sense to allow a youngster like Kishan to open 

c) Some dumb moves including opening with Krunal and giving him the 20th over 

 

Kohli would be a joint winner but escapes this time  as his team is in the playoffs.
