Iyer was a decent T20 player only for a brief period, prior to that he was below average and only good in ODI format. vvvslaxman Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Next world cup is in 2028. There is no need to play too many T20Is. Ideally i would want to rest all the players who play in ODIs. Iyer is playing there. So ideally him playing too many T20Is is not ideal. Same with Kishan although Kishan's record outside Asia is still questionable.

Maybe the break did him some good, giving time to reset. We need to get away from the mindset that "dropping" is some kind of humiliation. Need4Speed Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) Abhisgek and Kishan have been a majir force for us in the past.. Samson had some good centuries and great knockout performances in the wcup.. Tilak has also done well sometimes.. ofc Sky was not doing well but then what Iyer has done to warrant his place as compared to other 3.. Abhishek,Kishan and Tilak have done better at T20Is than Iyer.. he should get dropped for VS not others..and the captain should be made from existing team.. Samson,Kishan,Tilak etc are captain options too.. if we just wanted a good MO batter captain from outside the team then Patidar has better record than Iyer.. PS: I dont think Tilak is better than AS,Kishan or Samson but whatever he has done..he is better than Iyer.. If IPL performance matters then for Sky the replacement is VS we are just wasting a slot for captain and disturbing a well performing unit and being unfair to existing performers whoever else get dropped AS VS Samson/Kishan Samson/Kishan Tilak/Pandya/Dube Tilak/Pandya/Dube Tilak/Pandya/Dube Axar that shoud be our batting Edited June 29 by Need4Speed

I know attention spans are getting lesser ever day in humanity but, god damn man. Everyone is ignoring the obvious stupidity of making Iyer captain which not only destroyed team balance but also now has made all other world cup winning players insecure and no one can perform under such insecurity. Its exactly like hardik fans were targeting bumrah while ignoring the real reason why MI went to pieces. In such an atmosphere every single player will lose form. Now the same low IQ fans are targeting our world cup winners like samson, ishan and Abhishek. This is what online cults do. You can drop all other 10 players from the team and you still will get same results.
