KV244 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Joe Root should Retire from test cricket can't able to score hundred against weak Pakistani attack. Vancouver, Manucrick, Zero_Unit and 4 others 2 4 1
Vancouver Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) Yeah he should listen to you , Root is a problem solver and will overcome latest glitch in his batting technique. He still has 2-3 years of cricket left in him given how fit he is. He is not dropping catches in slips yet, which means his reflexes are still great . Mohammad Abbas and Ali are as good as any bowling attack on a seaming pitch like Lords. Root has best record against Indian attack, he averages 60 with 13 100s, he played more vs Australia but scored only 6 100 and his average drops to 40. What does that say about Indian bowling attack? He only has 2 100s vs Pakistan in 20 tests, that's 1 per 10 matches, against India he has 13 in 35, that 1 per 2.9 matches. Root vs India - 35 Tests - 3400 Runs - 60 Avg - 13 100s Root vs Aus - 39 Tests - 2800 Runs - 40 Avg - 6 100s Root vs All teams minus India - 133 Tests - 10800 Runs - 48 Avg - 28 100s Edited August 29 by Vancouver nevada 1
Prabhdeep Singh Posted August 29 Posted August 29 To be honest apart from SACHIN record I am not sure what he is playing for, England are not going to qualify for WTC and have never qualified before. Boring and very ugly batsmen to watch. Captaincy will probably be a disaster as well. Laaloo and nevada 1 1

One of the most natural batsmen to play since Tendulkar Laaloo 1

Root has scored many 100’s but can you recall an innings you saw and went ‘WOW’. I don’t think so. In terms of strokeplay for fab 4 I will go with following ranking: Virat S Smith Kane Root

Nikola Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Root is doing really well, average of around 52-53 since 2020 with 24 centuries! few bad matches can happen with anyone, he can continue to play till he is fresh mentally, only other member of fab four left now to retire is smith who has declined alot, his career average was almost 65 around 7k runs if i remember, now he is averaging around 46-47 which is way below his caliber. People talk about virat's decline but smith has had similar decline too which rarely gets talked about. Never rated kane anywhere near fab four.
vvvslaxman Posted August 31 Posted August 31 India had he best all round attacks during mid 2010s. Root made loads of runs against us.
