His car broke down somewhere on the way and he was mobbed on the way and the shirt he was wearing, was well, unwearable after that. So he and his manager went to the first shop they found which was a small shop on the called Mudaliyar leathers in Dharavi. This was the only jacket they had. Amitabh didn't have the money to pay off the owner at that time. He did so on his way back from the shoot, though the owner insisted that he could keep the jacket free of charge. On Amitabh's recommendation, Mudaliyar became the unofficial leather jacket provider for Bollywood films in the late 70s and early 80s.
