Jayaram_IND Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 I dont know why RP was selected in the first place as he hasnt played for a long time and he doesnt look fit.We could have bowled munaf as he can atlest keep things tight.

SachDan Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 RP is now struggling to touch even 120k mark lol Not his mistake..he hardly bowled more than two over spells this year..we should've played Munaf.
VRV Singh Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 The ludicrousness of this selection is underplayed as it's almost expected on such a sham tour. Called up from his holidays, not played a Test in over 3 years, not played first class for 6 months, not played internationally for 2 years.. Standard practice brah, selectors
Pagalpanti Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 You mean a 26 year old who wants to make it to the Indian team (at least he says so) is not match fit? I mean how ridiculous is that, shouldn't he be ready or was he waiting for a grand welcome party before getting selected for Indian team? Just goes to show committed these bowlers are, they ''didn't'' expect the call up means they've given up hope of coming back, so they shouldn't be picked.
Trichromatic Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 He is bowling around 115-125 Kmph. Even Ganguly could bowl faster and better than this. What's the point of keeping Munaf out of the team when he was supposed to be 5th best pacer as suggested by selection at the start of the tour?
rkt.india Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 His selection was an utter ridiculous joke by selectors, embarasing India. He has become gol-gappe ki dukaan. I don't know if there is any desire or passion left in him to play for India. You are a cricketer, an athlete, who may not have been playing for India in recent times but is still representing his state in Indian domestic competition and he looks like he is a sweet maker who has a shop in a narrow street of Lucknow. If they had to pick a left arm pacer and if we had to see this kind of an RP Singh, I can count quite a few left arm pacers in India who could have done better than what he has done. WE need bowlers who have passion to bowl, who are proud to play for India, who can run in and bowl their heart out. We do not need bowlers who run and bowl in slow motion. It was heartening to see Sreeshant bowling his heart out in the last session but why it is necessary for that he will bowl like that only when he has some rocket behind and mental midgetness will always haunt him.
Septimius Severus Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Selectors taking the piss by picking RP. Boycott's mum blah blah blah faster than RP. 115kph for an opening bowler? Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha
sage Posted July 19, 2025 Posted July 19, 2025 still cant believe we were that desperate we made an SOS call to RP singh from a beach in miami bumped to remind how things can always be much worse Lone Wolf, rollingstoned and nevada 3
kosingh Posted July 20, 2025 Posted July 20, 2025 Nearly had a heart attack. Thought for a second we were recalling RP to the current England tour. rollingstoned, Lord, nevada and 2 others 1 4
The Realist Posted July 20, 2025 Posted July 20, 2025 Coming from Miami beach with that belly So unserious Dhoni bowled quicker Whole tour was catastrophic sage 1
Gollum Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 His first ball reached Dhoni after multiple bounces , Dhoni destroyed our test cricket, didn't he? By the time he retired we were ranked #7, almost equal with WI. express bowling, rollingstoned and sage 2 1
putrevus Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 Gambhir if left alone is on path of doing the same.Dhoni atleast was very good at home.
vvvslaxman Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 Sreesanth and Balaji actually under-achieved. Balaji had a fantastic outswinger. Stress fracture ruined his career. Sreesanth outswing was so natural. He also had decent air speed. Gilchrist really rates him. Most of his wickets were top order wickets. 62 out of 87 wickets were top 5 batsmen. Look at sreesanth's wickets Amla 6 times ABDV 5 times Smith 5 times Kevin pietersen 5 times Kallis 4 times Collingwood 4 times Darwan 4 times Strauss 3 times Lara 2 times Gayle 3 times rollingstoned 1
Andy Posted July 23, 2025 Author Posted July 23, 2025 Cant believe I used to start threads 15 years back.
