Which loss hurt you the most as an Indian fan?

WC 03 but possibly because I was at the ground. It's hard to move on from a loss when you're stuck in a hotel abroad. Sydney 08 hurt pretty bad, the cheating, the umpires, those Michael Clarke wickets at the end.

96 World Cup semis final; not only did we lose but the way game ended was shameful
the loss did not hurt much, but the manner in which the game ended, a lot of Indians went home embarrassed. after the euphoria of thrashing Pak in Q-Finals, it was like being pulled down to earth.

Man' date=' am I the oldest fogey on this forum? No one besides me is hurting from the 1987 loss to Pakistan at home? After Gavaskar's heroic knock?[/quote'] Include me too.. That was dreadful. Any test loss to pakistan is dreadful. They have won few close matches against us.

this reminds me that nobody has mentioned Miandad last ball six match? I am pretty sure it would have hurt a lot to people following cricket at that point of time.

Not that much at that time it happened. Infact 1987 world cup semi final loss to ENgland hurt a lot . But India started losing lot of matches to Pakistan after that Miandad match. India had won like 7 or 8 matches out of 10 before they met Pakistan .. From that point they lost like 12 or 13 to while winning a couple of matches. That is how that match built a legacy.

1)india lost to england 2-1 at home despite all the factors against england .after 1st test it was apparent that ind will win the series ,question was whether it will be 3-0 or 4-0. knowing that after 3 day 2nd test will start which was on turning square but advantage was not meant to be.then 2nd innings collapse was horrible. game end in 3.5 day, same thing happened in 3rd test again 2nd inning collapse game end in 4 day & 1 session 2)8-0 trouncing overall 10-1 loss inside 18 month

2003 WC was when i started watching cricket....Didn't felt bad but was mad at Zaheer's opening spell... 0-8 was expected from my side TBH...crazy as it might sound.... Most heart breaking was India vs Aus ODI @ Hyderabad,India Sachin scored 175 in that match... we required 19 from 18 and Sir RJ brainfarted..... I was at the stadium... :((

But for the enthusiasm of the Indian umpire for having creating a historic event, raised his finger on a non-LBW of Maninder Singh almost when the ball had barely made contact on the legs.
