There is no match for Siraj's good days but his bad days like today is what he needs to have a control on. To be a great bowler you need to minimise the blows you take on bad days.

Difficult to understand how Siraj can bowl 135 k to 148 k in one series and 128 k to 140 k in the next series.

Bowling much better now. One early wicket in the spell does the trick for him.

He is Harbhajan Singh of fast bowling.

If he gets wicket, he becomes another beast.

If he don't get a wicket, he is be a passenger all day.

We wanted an accurate pacer who can regularly bowl 140 k+ with bounce and movement.

looks like our next decent bowler has arrived. but he needs to learn to do more with older ball

You're very unlikely to correct that when you're already 30. If he's rocks and diamonds might as well take it bur find ways to mitigate it. Such a bowler shouldn't lead the attack. it's another thing that bumrah is the exception and for most Indian bowlers who enter international cricket they learn on the job with the curve being quite steep eg Ishant.

Nah, this is not a bug but a feature, you will see this happening every year before IPL. 

 

We rushed back in 2021 when we were 2-1 up against England. Players are extra careful before IPL each year. Both Kohli and Rahul could easily have played 2 matches this series, that chose not to. Pandya is one of the most powerful cricketers today with hardly playing any international cricket.

 

Players, boards and franchises all prioritise IPL over tests. 

 

Lets not be gullible, players missing out before IPL is not a coincidence. They will be back before prestigious tournaments like the world cup or WTC final which works for their brand image.

 

Since we cannot do anything about it, let's be glad that this allows youngsters to get a game but it's not ironical but by design.

He needs to get stronger, lacks strength to consistently hit the deck hard, more of a skiddy quick bowler, really hope he bowls quick tomorrow with the new ball.

timing to pick pacers is MOST IMPORTANT...

 

avesh used to bowl at 145K but he was not picked then - now he struggles to bowl at 137K and even his line n length control is average- now he got an opportunity, timing was wrong with him.

Prasidh was also at peak once and when he started declining he was picked , hope he comes back.

i hope akash has been picked when he is in his top form....

I did not say that all the seniors were injured.

 

I said that their unavailability paved the way for youngsters to be picked and many of them succeeded.

 

And I like it.

 

Too many seniors are not needed. It is nice if they are not available from time to time, for whatever reason. We need to bring in new blood and positivity with a certain regularity.

Selectors shouldnt just look at numbers in ranji. Shami bumrah averaged 25 26 in ranji. Undercutter etc average 21. We know who the bettee bowler is.

Bowled really well but lot of leg side ones in his last few overs. Still contained ok. Some of the balls zipped through the surface

Want to see rana ana mayank as well. I think mayank will hit 145 150

If a player has his peak for one year and then is utter useless, maybe it’s good such players are not picked. We don’t need one season wonders
