Naman Ojha vs Wriddhiman Saha

naman ojha is a better batsman and saha a better keeper. I will select Naman Ojha ahead of Saha.

Why on earth would you select a better batsman over the better wicketkeeper for a wicket-keeper's job, when we are not exactly talking about a Gilchrist-esque batsman ??

To be fair to Saha, he has performed well in this series. Ojha looked more convincing bit still, runs are runs, it doesn't matter how you get them.

And how better is Sahas wk in comparison to Ojha's. Both would be contributing factors.

I would rate saha as definitely a better keeper than dhoni... dhoni stands way back to umesh and varun aroon where as ojha and saha were standing a little ahead and even fielders in lanka were standing a bit ahead..Indian fielders missed so many catches against England and Australia when they toured just bcos they were fielding too deep in slips

ojha scores a 6 on 10 on batting where as saha scores a 4 on 10 saha scores a 8 on 10 on keeping where as ojha scores a 6 on 10 for me both are equal ....but if u r playing 5 bowlers u may select a better batsman as I believe both are fine keepers. its the batting where one is fair and other is needing improvement.

I disagree. We are playing 5 bowlers, not 5 bowlers of which 2-3 are great/amazing ones who will generate 25-30 chances per match. Both are fairly new and so far, Saha is a more tested keeper than Ojha. He hasn't gotten A++, which is why Ojha is playing but IMO, it doesn't matter who is a better batsman of the two, our bowling simply is not good enough to consider the lesser wicketkeeper of the two.

Does not matter. We have to get away from the mentality of a team with two-three guys over 30 and otherwise made up of super-star talent 20-25 year olds. That is NOT how the modern game works and the modern game is accelerating towards a more nuanced approach. They may be in their 30s. but they are NOT in their late 30s. They are in their early 30s. If they can hit the ground running or develop into test level over the next summer, they'd still be both <33 and could net us 3-4 years of very good service and best case scenario of 4-5 years of service. 3-4 years of a golden period is enough for us to play everywhere and climb to #1.

No I agree that we should play them and I'm glad we've got good options. I was just saying that it's unfortunate they're on the older side

Naman ojha will be a good odi wkt keeper batsman after Dhoni retires.I think he should play in the wt20 next year

Ojha is closer to a specialist bat than Saha. But Saha is more gritty from what i have seen. Neither of them are dependable all the time. Compared to other countries we need a rock solid batsman who can score big, play with tail, be aggressive when needed. Neither of them completely satisfy the requirements. It is what we have. I think Saha is slightly better against short balls.

I would prefer Saha in tests because he puts a price on his wicket whereas Ojha has a tendency to throw away his wicket after getting set. Both are good keepers.

I've not felt comfortable with Saha batting. He never looks in, always a tuk tuk player

I rate Wriddhiman over Naman due to his superior keeping ability and batting technique.
