Dhoni deserves this

For sticking with only trundlers and dumping Yadav. But, but line-length bowlers don't leak runs. In before Dhoni fans come up with, what can Dhoni do with these bowlers. Yeah the same bowler he constantly selects, grooms and encourages while he puts down genuine strike bowelrs

Dhoni and his trundler love has led to this situation, only trundlers are available in the current ODI squad whereas we have Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron sitting out of the squad. Even someone like Pandya who bowls 140k and is a hard hitting batsman is not given a chance.

Yes, because if not for him, We have a rich history of great bowlers which he has single-handedly messed up.

Who cares if Gud-Kirkut was not picked?  You concede 440 at home, you have lost this game already.

Actually under Ganguly and later Dravid, we were on the way to having a better all round attack. Our bowlers were finally standing up. We had both genuine swing and fast bowlers emerging. And we started winning overseas. Dhoni took that trend and completely reversed it with his stubbornness and defensiveness. We went all the way back to the 90s where we win nothing abroad and where we have only trundlers who try to control

The damage that Dhoni has done will live for long, but you will still see how the same bowlers bowl better under Kohli in the test series. The difference is obvious

Oh yeah?  and please give me 2 bowlers outside of Zaheer who Gangu teili and yes-sir Dravid championed for the Indian team?  Lack of match-winning bowling resources is a Team India issue for 40+ years.  We never have a full "attack" - we usually have 2 bowlers who are class, and the rest make up the numbers.  Eventually, the ones that are good crumble under the extra workload and their numbers end up in the shitter, because batters can play them out and score at the other end, and then score off of them once set.

Captain corrupt, the amount of damage this tool has inflicted on the Indian team will take years to correct. Kohli was such a breath of fresh air in the SL test series compared to this guy. Can't the tests start any time sooner?

It is true that we don't have great pacers.

It is also true that one cannot fault Dhoni for choosing Bhuvi in our ODI team. He was an economical bowler before this series.

BUT

BUT

why is Mohit Sharma an automatic choice in this team ? He is neither a wicket taker, nor economical, nor quick, nor bouncy, nor very good with swing. How is he better than Umesh who is a wicket taking bowler ?

Why are Aaron or Ishant not even in contention while all the other pacers are very expensive too ?

Why has Arvind been chosen ? Why not Bumrah ? Why has Ishwar Pandey never been tried ?

I agree that all our pacers are either average or bad. Why this preference over some of these bad or average bowlers then, especially when most of those chosen don't seem to have any potential as well ?

All valid questions.  Mohit sharma at home is not a good choice. Selectors need to do something different.

True. All bad bowlers.. the thinking might be to give some of them an extended run and hope they come good instead of switching them every series... But why Mohit / Bhuvi and why not Pandey / Yadav, only Patil and Dhoni can answer

I have not watched a live game since the WC. One of the key reasons is Ind's trundlers. Fast bowlers make the game more exciting.

Bowlers like RP, Sreesanth were actually doing well and doing the job. Someone like Yadav would have been groomed much better under Ganguly than under Dhoni. None of the captain disparaged fast bowlers so openly and discouraged attempt to take wickets. As I said, you can see the difference in the test series when you see the same bowlers under Kohli.

Bhuvi actually did well in the 2 ODIs that we won.

Nope he got wicket at the end after spinners created the pressure. We need early wickets which our pacers have not provided.
