rkt.india Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Oh yeah? and please give me 2 bowlers outside of Zaheer who Gangu teili and yes-sir Dravid championed for the Indian team? Lack of match-winning bowling resources is a Team India issue for 40+ years. We never have a full "attack" - we usually have 2 bowlers who are class, and the rest make up the numbers. Eventually, the ones that are good crumble under the extra workload and their numbers end up in the shitter, because batters can play them out and score at the other end, and then score off of them once set. Shouldn't Dhoni have done something about it? He is captain for last 8 years. Isn't it captain's job to build a team. Mosher and Gollum 2
Sidhoni Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 We missed our best fast bowler(Shami) and best spinner(Ashwin). With the core of the bowling attack out injured, this kind of a debacle was always on the cards given how thin our resources are. New guy, sscomp32 and sandeep 2 1
nevada Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Dhoni deserves a booting. Indian cricket fans deserve a competitive performance from the team.

With the core of the bowling attack out injured, this kind of a debacle was always on the cards given how thin our resources are.True. But India wins ODIs with batting, and fact is batting won Zero games out of 7 this series. Bowlers still won 2 ODIs inspite of missing a couple of guys...
Sidhoni Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Dhoni and debacles go hand in hand. Whitewashes, heaviest defeats etcIts all about the process, not the resultsDhoni and victories also go hand in hand. This World Cup wins, biggest wins etc etcThis is just a phase. We were not full strength and were up against one of the strongest sides.

Bowlers still won 2 ODIs inspite of missing a couple of guys... Batting sort of won us the Chennai game and we did post 200 in the first T20I. But yes batting has let us down mainly in Kanpur and Rajkot where we lost from winning positions. sscomp32 1
Debutant Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Never understood this guy's love for Mohit. What extraordinary quality this trundler posses which we are not able to see ??
Ankit_sharma03 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Disappointed to see dhoni's post match Again saying we hve seen bowler who bowl fatser go for runs Yes, varun aaron n umesh hve lil control n they hardly use their brains but i doubt they cud hve been this worst Atleast there pace cud b lil more handy then our trundlers.A captain needs to show faith in them no matter, he has showed immense faith in raina jadeja rohitBhuvneshwar bowls bad n still keeps playing umesh plays one match bad n gets dropped in bang n even this seriesatleast he did well in wc, did well in cb seriesi dnt rem when bhuvi did bowl well last time, may b eng odi series n that eng side had no idea how to play odi a fast bowler has to scare opp not being scared of his own captainIN 92 WC wasim akram was having problem with new ball control n was bowling alot of wides n imran gave a statement in paper that i want wasim to bowl fast . That gave wasim a lot of confidence N dhoni says in Bang we hve to now go to bowler who dnt hve pace directly telling ur bowler ur wantedthat wud hve shattered his confidence n the guy did well in WC M a huge huge Ms dhoni Fan but have to confess he is the worst captain a fast bowler cud get .Another eg to back my statement In Csk also He made mitchell mcgleashan n kyle abbott sit whole season outI c Steyn , akhtar , andy roberts, mcgrath showering praises over the talent of umesh , aaron about their talent. These r gr8 fas bowler they know about bowling more than anyone. But In india we can see the super talent in Rohit sharma n back him for years n years n b happy wid his one or two series perfomancesbut when it comes to seeing a talent in fast bowler we start to look at his figuresCan we show equal faith in fast bowler, ultimately a bowler wins u matches If not whats the point of being xcited about guys like Barinder Sran, nathu singh n allfew matches for them with bad figures , n there wud b post n captain's statement about how much runs they leak Ironhide, Mosher and Gollum 3
youngindia Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 dhoni has to take full blame for his stupid ideas and he refuses to learn from them.there are no good 125k+ bowler...they are only in his imagination.the team has been spoilt quite a bit by the so called allrounder nonsense.binny had no business being in the team...axar's batting foundation is not good enough...the only genuine allround options are jadeja and hardik pandya. and they have to prove they can win matches.things like balance makes sense only if you win matches first. A player has to be there because he can win matches or has the world class talent to do so. Gollum and Ironhide 2
vishalvirsingh Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 India loosing in india is humiliation.Selectors please take action....its time to go for Mr. D.....He is now 50 percent the player he was and similarly not an effective captain. New guy 1
kosingh Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I agree that Dhoni makes some mind boggling decisions, his team selections are not the best, and he should retire. But let's not even pretend that there's an abundance of talent in the country at the moment. Even not playing Dhoni, Dhawan, Raina, Mohit, Bhuvi etc....we don't have the talent to compete against decent teams.Sure, we could do better than this lot.
sscomp32 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 It is true that we don't have great pacers. It is also true that one cannot fault Dhoni for choosing Bhuvi in our ODI team. He was an economical bowler before this series.BUTBUTwhy is Mohit Sharma an automatic choice in this team ? He is neither a wicket taker, nor economical, nor quick, nor bouncy, nor very good with swing. How is he better than Umesh who is a wicket taking bowler ?Why are Aaron or Ishant not even in contention while all the other pacers are very expensive too ? Why has Arvind been chosen ? Why not Bumrah ? Why has Ishwar Pandey never been tried ? I agree that all our pacers are either average or bad. Why this preference over some of these bad or average bowlers then, especially when most of those chosen don't seem to have any potential as well ? One of the very few posts i find Spot on. ICF needs more of posts like this.

gakgupta Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) Actually under Ganguly and later Dravid, we were on the way to having a better all round attack. Our bowlers were finally standing up. We had both genuine swing and fast bowlers emerging. And we started winning overseas. Dhoni took that trend and completely reversed it with his stubbornness and defensiveness. We went all the way back to the 90s where we win nothing abroad and where we have only trundlers who try to control The damage that Dhoni has done will live for long, but you will still see how the same bowlers bowl better under Kohli in the test series. The difference is obviousKohli / Shastri combo are working on the damage done by DHONI. In couple of years time, we will see some exciting young fast bowlers who bowls fast and spin bowlers who spin the ballBut so bad for me that...now I have to watch both the innings. I have actually stopped watching Indian bowling.... Edited October 27, 2015 by gakgupta Ironhide 1

I have actually stopped watching Indian bowling....I have stopped watching Odi cricket under Dhoni's captaincy.
