kosingh Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 The guy was pretty bad when he coached India for a while in the 90s. He along with the other Indian coaching "greats" of the era-- Madan Lal, Kapil Dev etc resulted in BCCI going overseas to look for coaches and finding John Wright.
beetle Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 There should be a cooling off period for selectors to be appointed for influential post like a coach or a coach to be appointed selector. The guys is trying to put one foot on a boat without taking his other foot off the other boat. Chill man..... tweaker 1
zen Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 We need crickets who played in 90s .... I would go with one of Dravid, Kumble, Srinath, Nassir Hussain, Gilchrist and Warne tweaker 1
kosingh Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Go with Laxman Sivaramakrishnan. That should take him out of the commentary box. And cricketers are smart enough not to listen to him. New guy and tweaker 2
tweaker Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Why are the younger ones not coming forward. express bowling 1
express bowling Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 (edited) Is Warne interested in coaching ? He has a sharp criketing brain, is a good tactician, has a knack for promoting young talent , has experience working with Indians , did really well with RR and has huge experience in international cricket. I doubt he is interested. He has a thousands things going on. Poker, sex, charity, commentary, his kids, parties, commercials seem to take up much of his time. India coaching job is just too time consuming and underpaying for someone like Warnie tweaker and vishalvirsingh 2
gakgupta Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Is he the same guy who took Kenya to 2003 world cup? That's a good feat... Atleast as a selector, he has not done good job. Looks like he didnt lookout for long term benefits tweaker and Ironhide 2
tweaker Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Why there are not any worthy coaches available in India.Where are the players who have retired in last 7 years.Nobody seems to have completed coaching certification course. Why are the coaches of major teams,Mumbai,Delhi,Karnataka not coming forward express bowling 1
renjith Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 We need someone who is well exposed to the modern ways of planning and training methods. An australian or an english man is best suited I guess. Last thing we want is to go back to the pre-john wright ways of training. Lannister and tweaker 2
vishalvirsingh Posted June 6, 2016 Author Posted June 6, 2016 Time for my comments- ZAK is the no 1 bowling COACH that India can possibly get , he is even better than wasim akram and glen MCgrath as bowling coach. if ZAK refuses than Srinath can be considered as the bowling coach. ZAK's captainship was a revelation and that indicates that he is a strategist- all Indian pace bowlers will achieve 25 % more success if ZAk bcom's india bowling coach. ZAK is way above any bowling coach as of today or if I say that he is the ONLY best candidate and way better than others. Bangar /Praveen Amre are good batting coaches. abhay patil /Sridhar may do a good job as fielding coaches as indian fielding skills have really improved under Sridhar. we need to have 3 coaches and one who is the most influential should become the Head coach. zen, tweaker and Ironhide 3
Ankit_sharma03 Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Sandeep patil has been a decent coach infact better than all in past thats it full stop. Yet his lack of understanding of modern cricket is hurting us. Their concept of fast bowler is krishna das and all rounder is axar , dhawan well says a lot. Many talents under them have been mishandled, take kuldeep yadav example any other country would have groomed himi by now. Ill Prefer Dravid sticking to India A and working with them since he is doing well and youngsters are benefitting also Coaching teams needs to be prep keeping in minds of the requirement of our team. Kohli is a young captain n needs someone exp in dressing room to help him with tactics and same goes for bowlers . We need a bowling coach who has face problems in int cricket and found answers not someone like Bharat Arun who hasnt played . As far as batting coach is concerned we need some one who not only help this team in overseas but majorly against spin bowling as our players have been found wanting against spin in past few yrs. We also need a gud spin bowling coach beco our spin is not pur strength anymore Head coach- Tom moddy ( always been impressed with his work and he has worked world around and with lot of indian players as well. Has a gud understanding of modern cricket and looks like who keeps things calm ) Others can be- Langer, kirsten Bowling coach- Zaheer khan , also ill put Ashish nehra name up for A-teams and U-19 teams '. They both can do a world of gud to our teams bowling. others- bond, gillespie Batting coach- Jayawardne is some who was brilliant with tactics and could be gr8 help to our captains. He was a brilliant player of spin bowling so would be gr8 help to our teams in many ways. other options- hussey, sachin, Spin bowling - i would love warne more than anyone but thats doesnt look like it gonna happen. Muralitharan or Murali kartik can be another options. Murali kartik coz he is retired and he has tons of exp of english conditions in county . fielding coach can be sridhar who has worked well vishalvirsingh 1

gattaca Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) he did good with kenya ODI team thats about it. Why wasn't he serious in coaching other teams or hasnt applied to Indian Coach in the past. All past date expired coaches have applied till now. Edited June 7, 2016 by gattaca

No bowling coach can make world class bowlers out of them

No bowling coach can make world class bowlers out of them Dhawal Kulkarni has improved a lot playing for GL...Also PK bowled decently too in patches..... Look at Bangla pace attack now-Fizz,Taskin even Rubel has improved and Mashrafe bowls to his limitations-That is a pretty good LOI seam bowling attack.....Streak has to be given a lot of credit here. track record says he can work on trundlers to make them relatively better. I am assuming he has officially applied

I am assuming he has officially applied dnt take ipl has criteria, ull see a lot of things in ipl tht wnt happen in Int cricket has dhawal improved we ll soon find out . When we talk about trundlers we talk in terms of skills requires in Int cricket that they lack . Ipl at the end of the day is domestic tournaments, i rem even balaji n munaf taking tons n tons of wkts with those slower balls in Ipl. Fizz taskin rubel has basic talent of fast bowler thats pace n rest can be taught but pace cnt be . Streak can work on getting that pace in rite channel but problem with trundlers is even if they put it right lack of pace allows the batsman to make his own length and in death over their effectivness goes for a complete toss
