Other Key point which i gathered with all news pieces i saw 

 

1.Kohli being consulted as well not dhoni ( he played under kumble during RCB in intial yrs)

2.Shastri didnt make any presentation (must have had few pegs n given an oral speech)

3. Zaheer khan might also be approached for being bowling coach

4. Sandeep patil name was dropped, Amre gave an option that he also doesnt mind being batting coach

5. An outside chance of tom Moody, he can be dark horse

Great more useless southies in the team. Kumble is better served as a administration gig. Kind of like Dravid. He will be wasted as a Indian coach. There are other priorities out there.

Well unlike those days the BCCI isnt ruled by a southie.

Even though the title for the position is coach, I see the head coach as someone who provides both strategic and tactical direction. Someone who knows what the strengths and weaknesses of both the players and opponents, along with playing conditions, and works out a plan to give the team the advantage. In this respect, along with leadership, Kumble can contribute

 

For technical aspects, one can hire dedicated batting, bowling and fielding coaches

I think a coach job is to prep team b4 the match in every way rest its a captains show.

Where i think we needed someone like kumble is that he has lot of int exp which this young team n kohli the captain needs. HE does some basic mistake which is obv due to lack of exp. Dhoni n sourav seniors to guide but virat most player are of same exp only. Kumble can be a big help. 

Where kumble gives me hope is he like kohli wud demand high standards n certain degree of commitment. He has always been a no non sense guy and some one who wnt shy away giving his mind which i felt was missing in fletcher tenure . Also he had attacking bowlers mindset which wud b a change to think tank filled with batsman and gone into a defensive thought process. 

Our spin bowling wud improve for sure. 

 

There is a word going around that they r considering amre as batting coach n sooner zaheer also which wud be gr8. This young team needs player who can share their int exp rather than coaches like whatmore, fletcher who dnt have Int exp. 

 

All i hope that many trundlers career dnt revive .

Erm he has zero coaching credentials, never coached at any level yet somehow is now the national coach?  

 

At best he is an administrator not got the skill set or experience to be an effective coach.

Hope he filters out all the useless Kumars, Sharmas, Dhawans from the team. Been sick of hearing those names. Its high time players are selected based on merit. Babys, Binnys are the future of Indian cricket.

Just hope that we dont have a clash of egos with Kohli & Kumble

I was hoping for tom moody as he will be aware of the assue ways of training and preperation.

 

When Kristen was made coach, he didn't have any experience. Only time will tell if kumble can succeed as a good coach.

 

I don't think he will favour mediocre karnataka players. Throughout his career he played with high integrity.

Yup even kirsten didnt have any exp , u hve to start from somewere. But he has been involved in coaching mngmt of MI n RCB so its not that he wud be having no clue

 

As far as favouring Karnataka player well i dnt think so its in his hands, selection generally depends on captain n coach. Even though few karnataka player needs favours like manish, rahul n nair they need more chances . 

 

The thing that gives me most hope is he n kohli wud really demand high standards n high level of commitment and a man with wkt taking bowlers mind is always a gud thing.
