Team was trailing by 300 odd runs !!!

Lost 4 wickets for 50 runs..

Then mounted a comeback by scoring 200 odd runs in 50+ overs !!!

Genuine test fans who would like to see a positive brand of cricket will surely like this windies team and their attitude  !!!

Easier to pull off when situation is dire.

Scores will be level or so with 40 overs left. WI should set a 20/20 target. That would be attacking.

They wont set any 20/20 target. They cannot get 10 Indian wickets in 20 overs, so they wont bother giving us a chase-able target.

Day-1 India Dominates

India Entering 2nd test with 1-0 lead

West indies bowled out for 196 in 1st two session.

India gets a start of 87/1 at RPO 4

Day ends with 125/1

Day-2

What should have happened- plan should have been , play normal cricket thats 3 RPO in 1st two session as one batsman is playing on 74 and other have faced 50 balls. But get ur eye in and see 1st hour then start to build tempo. We would have around 180 runs in 1st 2 session and lead would have been around 110-120. Last session with 2 set batsman accelrate with 4+ RPO means 120+ runs in session . Meant a lead of 230-240 at the end of the day. Next Day Bat for 20-25 overs at 3 to 5 RPO as we get in and get add around 100 runs to lead and make WI bat for almost 2 sessions.

What actually happened- We made a 236 at 2.6 RPO whole day which also due to some shots played in last session. There was nothing much in pitch, no wkts falling at one end instead we had to set batsman and defensive field open for single doubles. We should have had a lead of 220+ on day 2 instead we had 160+. So Next day Instead of 20-25 overs we batted 50 overs and West indies had to face 20-25 overs less

Thats not attacking cricket, Thats safety 1st cricket. How can we Fear of collapse being in a commanding position. Pujara came n Said we didnt Plan acc to rain- Was team Management serious when there was threat of rain for 2 days what were they expecting a minor shower.

Sorry this was not the Attacking cricket Virat intended out to be, Wasnt he the one who pushed Rohit to no 3 to score runs faster to win test. Now m not sure whose idea was this but this was not the right intent. Now m talking about Virat choice of player but it was about the Intent of winning.

There is a lesson when we see great sides like Aussies and West indies, they played to win not to avoid defeats. Their No.3 player Pointing and Richards pushed opposition on backfoot. M not saying be like them you cant be but atleast be yourself Pujara. Yes, everyone did play slow but with other it was one of innings with pujara its getting regular. He is not killing the momentum.

Yes i wanna know what scenarios, as i said was there was collapse or demons in the pitch . Or mcgarth, Akram firing on other end. How about the scenario WI was in ,we were in pretty good situation. They played proper cricket. Proper cricket is leave good balls and attack poor ones and take runs when they are on offer. No one mentioned play like Gayle, gilly or sehwag.

I think the only scenario that happened was what we predicted on the day.

There are tons of potential scenarios possible. I wouldn't waste my time writing a long post on that

Assumption for your "should hv happened" is that everyone scores more or less exactly the same but in less number of overs. Oh then can we have Dhawan bat for longer and swap Kohli's 40 odd with Rahul's 150 odd? How about exchanging numbers of Pujara with Ashwin's. That would hypothetically bump the RR by something. Or may be give those runs to Mishra who batted relatively quickly  .... Smell the coffee!

PS as the say when you ASSUME, you make an ASS out of U and ME :p:

How about watching Kohli's inning in last match, Came in with 2 down did not go into sehwag mode just played proper cricket. Stop finding excuses for something that has backfired for so many times. In every Potential scenarios wickets can fall in a bunch that even if you are 200/0 and it has happened doesnt mean you shut down the shutters. There is nothing Worse than fearing World 8th rank team. IF this was the case with i cant imagine what would happend against Eng,SA, Aus.

It is not fearing but making sure you get your goal - 500 runs. And there was enough time left in the game. Again not everyone plays for weather

By what not making runs or wasting 2.5 days coz with that run rate u need more than 2 days. I dnt think so his 20-40 assure 500 runs as still a lot of runs have to be made and its a lot of burden on other 4 and they all wont be work all days. Cant 500 be made by playing proper cricket. N i dnt remeber any of Pujara score in recent past that made sure we reached 500 , no nothing its a long long time he made sure of it. When he did he played normal cricket. His last gr8 innings was a proper innings 146(289) and the situation was really worse. This was a commanding position and he just played selfish knock.

Not playing for weather, when there was certain forecast and certain excuse by captain at end - "Pity we lost most of yesterday." hows that possible. You knew it will rain.

I actually liked how Pujara batted. It was classic test match batting esp when the other team has been bundled in 60 overs

In this test, we had enough time. It is not LOI where dots create pressure. Moreover, if one end is secure, the batsmen at the other end can play freely if he desires

Also let's not forget that Pujara got run out, Rahul got a bad one, and ofc Kohli. With Kohli gone, Rahane is expected to bat for long. Saha played is part too

As I said one cannot plan for weather. If he could, the last WI wkt could have fallen just before rains came on day 3. Ind would have won
